No, I think we all have been saying this...SAME HEAD, DIFFERENT HAIR. People are saying the actual face sculpt is different WHICH IT IS NOT. The hair does appear to be a bit flatter in the latest rendition but I also think the pic everyone is using has a strange angle and focal length. Once you look at photos from a proper distance, it looks better. AGAIN, not saying it shouldn't look good close up, I'm saying you need PROPER closeup photos. I'm pretty damn happy with the latest heads and am ready for this to ship:lol

I agree! If the close up pic was taken using zoom instead of bringing the lens to the statue, the close up pic wouldn't have the weird distortion effect. I'm ok with this HS, personally. I prefer the angry HS, tho ...which I'll use for my display.

If somebody shouldn't like any of the 3 heads XM delivers, I'm pretty confident that we'll see plenty of customized heads (hint: Magneto is up to at least ten different heads by now).

Man, I swear I've never felt so tired about a single statue. People whined about every minimal detail, and this makes me recall about the endless talks about Black Widow's head sculpts, increased 1000 times. Then Black Widow came in and her portraits are perfect. Bloody awesome. I just want this to be shipped because I hate how much working time it has taken (and keeps taking) up, when XM guys could have probably done a whole new other character with that time.

They can say it's the camera all the want but a good camera doesn't change the proportions and the eyes and forehead are different proportions in those photos. We'll see but this seems a bit of a stretch to blame photography.

I'm not saying it's all photography but when it looks good in a full body shot and bad in a closeup(and I don't mean paintwise), the camera can definitely play into it. The face is the same...unless you are calling XM liars. The forehead is shorter because the hair is different. The eyes are the same...but the paint is different so maybe that makes them look different.

It´s still a different angle. Do you see the face, surprise, it´s the same head. :wave

Painting the eyes differently changes the face. I'm not calling XM liars at all. But you can't change the paint on a feature that changes the proportionality of the face and then sit back and say "nope they are the same because the underlying sculpt is the same". And changing the hair so that the forehead size is different in relation to the rest of the face also constitutes a distinct change. So to say it's the same because the underlying sculpt hasn't changed is disingenuous in my mind. Not a lie. A spin.

And grumpy, I work with cameras, I know how to see through differences in angles, lighting and color temperatures.

I think they flat out said, new hair, new paint, underlying sculpt is the same. And painting eyes differently doesn't change the proportion of said eyes...unless the iris is a different size which I don't think it is. In the end, I get your point...you're not happy with how this turned out. Seems like people are fairly split. I don't think anything else is going to change. You can either cancel, flip, or keep it. I'm gonna keep it...

Good job. :)

We know they change the hair, but not the sculpt of the head. So if the hair falls a little bit more into the forehead, means not the sculpt is different.

I haven't yet read everything that has been said about this. Just a handful of comments.

Painting eyes differently is a change is the size and shape of the whites of the eyes is different and it looks to me in the new pics they are a bit different. Looking at it again, I also think part of this is that the eyebrows are thicker and less nuanced and it appears the angle on them changed slightly as well.

The hair being different in that it rests flatter and lower on the head is an odd choice. Whether the underlying sculpt is the same or not, it gives the appearance of altering the face as none of these things exist in a vacuum.

If this all about ppl insisting the sculpt is different or not, fine. I never thought the sculpt was different. The end result looks different as a whole and that is not a factor of lighting, camera quality or angles. It is due to changes they admittedly made. Changes which are not for the better it would seem. If they are upset about bad photos not showing off their product well, it is fairly easy to have some better photos taken. Let's give them a day or two to do that.

I know you like this company and trust me I do too. But you're being naive if you don't think the foreheads are drastically different, as in shorter in the newer one compared to the original. It's quite obvious they used the "hair up" portraits face and attached this hair. The face is fine. It was and is the same as the PO head. That is not the issue (besides the lackluster paint on it). What IS an issue, and it's been an issue since they debuted the "hair up" sculpt, is that the forehead is RIDICULOUSLY short. No woman's hair begins it that spot.

I don´t call it naive. :wink1:

True i really love XM, but trust me if i don´t like something i´m not going around with closed eyes. With phoenix
i talk direct with XM and yes it looks different, but wait for the first real pics from collectors. :wink1:

ok guys i agree about forehead, the hair look different too but perfection doesn't exist and we need to deal with that statue because is the last preview before to ship so done is done :p t is not being conformist but well xD
