Can anyone of the XM Reps tell me what costumes are being used in the X-MEN line? Phoenix appears to be in her classic 80's costume and Wolvie seems to be in the same era (with some liberties taken with his gloves and shoulder pads). However, on the Wolverine print I'm seeing Cyclops in his 90's Lee costume. Are the rest of the future X-MEN releases in their 80's (Byrne) or 90's (Lee) costumes? This is important to me personally. Whether or not I buy Phoenix hinges on the answer to my question. I'm not looking for who else is getting released in the X-line. I just want to know what era of X-MEN we are dealing with for this line.
Hey filip629, let me check that with the style guides we are given and come back to you on this.
I feel the same way. SS really had little to no creativity with the X men line. they just threw it out there. It's funny to see how they can have a whole part of the website dedicated to the court of dead with character bios and intent for the line and a unified theme pouring full of creativity. Yes, I am very impressed with what they plan to do with that line. At the same time its hard understand how they could pour so much talent and energy into that line when they have not done MAJOR characters like Magneto or Phoenix. Just crazy. I love the creative approach XM is taking! Im in this for the artistic creativity. That's where my money tends to flow.

That, right there, is some dedication to the comics....... You should be CBG.

I'm hoping we get the Jim Lee stuff, but it's going to be hard to pass up on any from either era.
We already have 1/4 Jim Lee pieces. Just pick up any SSC X-MEN PF. They have just about the entire line going in Jim Lee's style. I hope XM goes a different route. I'm really hoping XM gives us a classic X-MEN line. It hasn't been done in 1/4 scale and it was an immensely popular time/run in comics. The Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne run is what put the X-MEN on the map. Those are to this day, still the best X-MEN stories I have ever read. I also have Lee's entire X-MEN run and enjoyed it very much. However, we have 1/4 Lee statues available for those that want them. A 1/4 classic line is way overdue and XM has an opportunity to fill that void. I'm really hoping they chose to do so. I can honestly say if XM chooses to go the Lee route for their X-MEN line, they won't see any money from me. I'll even pass on Phoenix. I don't want rare oddball classic releases. That'll just frustrate the hell out of me. What good is Phoenix if I don't have any of the other X-MEN I need to display with her?
Phoenix is a tricky piece for me. Love the figure but dislike the base. Most peeps say ignore the base. I have a hard time doing so. I wish she was on anything but a Sentinel base. If XM goes the Lee route with their X-MEN pieces then Phoenix is meant to tie in with those other pieces. This is wrong on every level to me. First off, Phoenix hasn't fought Sentinels to begin with. Secondly, even if I can look past that and say she did, she certainly didn't do it with the Lee era X-MEN. That's why I wish she was on a cosmic base of some kind. At least that way, she can be a stand alone piece in peeps collections. Now, if XM decides to do a classic styled X-MEN line (on Sentinel bases) with the rest of their X-pieces, I can deal with the Sentinel base for Phoenix. At least she'll be fighting along side the characters of her era. Any other way just doesn't work for me personally.
Someone give this nerd a chill pill, he's ruining my XM buzz.....

Yep he needs some.
Why? Is it wrong to want pieces that make sense and fit together well?
Nothing, I just like the chillpill smiley ... lol
OK, works for me. For the record though, I don't think asking characters to be in their correct eras is being picky.

Yeah, but to ask a company to stick to one particular era is a little well... entitled... lol
