The 2 members names I hear most often for PO'ing XM merch are kayorzz and TCSC. Tavegg is a member here that has dealt with them and had positive experiences with them. I trust Tavegg. I have dealt with James (Tavegg) personally on a few occasions and have found him to be very trustworthy. You can PM him if you'd like more details and references. I'll be hitting up Tavegg for advice myself when the time comes for me to PO Mags. Of course you can buy from online retailers as well. As I said, BBTS, Secret Compass, and Simply Toys all carry XM merch.

Thank you for the kind words Filip. Your good peeps in my book as well buddy.

I have not personally dealt with Mark (kayorzz). I deal with Kenny (TCSC) exclusively. I would personally vouch for both gentleman though. I met Kenny on Statuemarvels over a year ago as he purchased a large amount of statues I was selling at the time. I've never had anything but great experiences with him and as a result of our interactions we have become good friends. I talk with him almost daily now that I opened a FB account. (He talked me into it) He is as solid as they come. I know Kenny and Mark know each other and Kenny speaks very highly of Mark as well. I also know Mark has dealt with several others on the forum so whomever you choose to go with If that's the route you choose will be a good quality experience. These two are not going to be your cheapest options. They will however offerror you the absolute best value for your money with their services. If you want the absolute cheapest price Simply Toys and BBTS are your best options. If you want some I the finer extras like myself and don't mind paying a smidgen more then Kenny and Mark are your guys. I will leave it up to those gentleman to personally discuss with you what they can offer and how much their cost it.

I hope this helps out some fellow collectors that have had questions about XM buying options. If you don't know now ya know :wink1:

Thank you VERY much Bryan. I'll be waiting for your response and look forward to your answer.

Hey filip629, sorry for the long wait.. the boys' been busy with the painting (Hawkeye, Mags) getting ready for the SG top convention. I've bounced your questions off them and we are checking with a couple of comic book dudes to help us out. The style guide we have been provided are pretty strict and is based on "classic" not "modern" but you are right that even under "classic" it could be 80s or 90s - the style guides we are given actually doesn't mention which era or which artists. We are given very slight leeways in how we style or add details to the costumes so they look better in 1/4 scale. So we are now consulting with our illustrators friends to compare the differences and give you a definitive answer. In case we miss out this in this ever growing thread, please do not hesitate to drop me a note at [email protected] so I can stay on top of this for ya.

Every person has a personal preference, what they like best. It would be hard to say if there are more people in favor of 80's style or 90's style. It might be split right down the center. I personally like the 90's style. XM is going to let down someone if they pick one style over another. I don't see why they have to limit themselves to one era or the other. What sense does that make? Why can't they just pick whatever costume makes the most impact for each character? With someone like Wolverine, I'm not sure if you can really choose between the brown and the yellow costumes. I lean towards the yellow, because it seems a little more impactful, but I like them both. I wouldn't not buy the brown if that was the one being offered. With someone like Rogue, the bomber jacket costume is the most visually pleasing. I understand the completionist mentality. I have it myself, but just give us great products. That's what is important.

Once again in the words of the great philosopher Jagger, "you can't always get what you want".

There will always be a certain percent that will won't be totally satisfied with AD.

Thanks for the info Bryan. While I have a preference to the Byrne era, I can understand if XM wants to roll with the popular Lee era. In an ideal world, you guys would do both. As a collector, I would just like to be able to finish a line with the characters I like in the eras their costumes represent. If this 80's Phoenix is meant to fight along side a 90's X-MEN lineup ...will we see a 90's Jean Grey or will Phoenix take her place?

You don't have to bother posting an answer Bryan. It seems I'm the only one who wants to know. I'll just wait to see which characters are going to be be released next in the X-MEN lineup and what costumes they are in. That'll pretty much answer my question. I appreciate the time you take to interact with us and answer questions. It's truly one of the things I love about XM.

I viewed Phoenix as its own statue, Magneto as its own, and Wolverine as its own. I know they're all on Sentinels but Sentinel bases are so common on X-Men statues that unless it's declared they specifically go together, like Koto's Danger Room series, using a Sentinel doesn't necessarily connect pieces together in my mind.

I'm a HUGE stickler for costumes and eras. I won't even put my Storm PF next to my Black Panther like SS did because their costumes are different eras. Something like Phoenix on a Sentinel just doesn't work to a comics purist who actually read the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix Saga.

It's really no different than the movie collector fans who want their statues in poses actually from the movie.

Wolverine and Magneto however... unlike Phoenix in her comic costume, those costumes are already not comic accurate, which doesn't bother me since they're interpretive pieces that also make no sense together. Wolverine is clearly in a fighting rage while Magneto is cold chillin'. Aside from the commonality of a Sentinel, logically they have to be at two different places in time or setting.

Everything always boils down to personal tastes. I've been tagged as picky but I don't think I'm that bad and I'm not inflexible. I was one of the first peeps to ask what costume Mags was wearing because it certainly isn't his classic costume. I didn't care. Simply because it's such a phenomenal statue. I knew I was going to add it to my collection. If nothing else, I'd enjoy it as a stand alone piece. When I saw the art print for Mags, I questioned why the inside of his cape was red. Now, I was going to buy Mags regardless. However, the boys over at XM gave us a HUGE treat today. The sneaked some more pics of the statue and to my overwhelming joy....the cape is solid purple. Maybe they did this because we raised the topic here. Maybe they always intended to make the cape purple. I don't care either way. I'm just glad they added that element to the piece. If I truly was a picky dude, I would have said his costume doesn't even exist in any comic I ever read and the inside of his cape was never red. I'm going to pass. I didn't. Because as we all know, this is a truly special statue.

Mags is a villain. For me he can easily stand (or in this case sit) on his own. For me to start purchasing actual members of the XM X-MEN line, I want the line to fit together. When I saw Phoenix, I just about lost my mind. Her she is in her classic 80's costume looking fantastic. I thought for sure, other 80's classic X-MEN would follow. I'm going to be honest. I'm not as big a fan of the XM Wolvie as most peeps are. However, the reason I passed wasn't because of the lines in his shoulder pads or the straps on his gloves. I already have a fully sculpted classic Wolvie in the SSC COM and I love it. I figured if I picked up the XM Phoenix and added it to my Wolvie COM, I could pick up the other 4 characters I wanted in their classic 80's costumes. However, when I saw the Wolvie print, it showed Cyke in his 90's costume battling Sentinels with Wolvie. That's when I took a step back and started asking questions. Will we have a Jean Grey in the line or does Phoenix replace her? Is Storm going to be in her white costume or black one? In order for me to fully commit to Phoenix, I kind of need to know what direction the line is going. That's just me. It's going to cost a pretty penny to pick these pieces up and the only reason I would start is because I want ALL of the characters I enjoyed most from the Byrne era (Cyke, Wolvie Storm, Phoenix, Colossus, and Nightcrawler).

For the record. I'm not demanding XM make any era of the X-MEN. I do have a preference (Byrne). That said, XM is going to make whatever era they deem fit. I just think that it's nice to let your collectors know what era/direction a line is going to take. SSC did it by committing most of their X-MEN PFs to the Lee era (with the exception of Storm). It allowed collectors the knowledge of knowing more of their favorite characters in the Lee era were coming.

OK, I've said my piece. I know XM is certainly listening and I know they care about their collectors. Whatever they decide is all good. I'll just take things statue by statue and see where things go from there. If XM is going to make the rest of the characters I want to add, I can only hope Storm is the next character they release. If she's in her black costume I can make everything else work. I'm not going to lie though, If I picked up all the other characters and then found out that Storm was getting released in her white costume...I wouldn't be a happy camper. :lol

Holy canoli^^^^ I'm not even going to pretend that I read that

No. It's my long posts that blurred your brain. Sorry about that. :lol

Lol yeah I'm not going to quote the long post before the last one, but I think XM might be doing costumes from any roster, nothing specific.

The good thing about Wolverine's yellow costume is it fits the 70s, early 80s and 90s. Whether you're going for the Classic Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne era or later Jim Lee era, the yellow costume works.

The X-Men from XM might be more like how SS does the Avengers PFs, which are from all over the place; late 90s Black Panther, classic Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye, Modern She-Hulk, 70s/90s/2010s Ms. Marvel, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised to see any look pop up though. Personally I'd like to see Rogue in her green and white, something she actually went back to in the 90s after ditching the Jim Lee yellow/green she wore for a few years. Gambit in one of his all black outfits would be cool, too.

I like it only cause the yellow definitely gives dat ass and bitties some popping it deserves. :lol

I do like the green/white, but always loved that yellow though.

As for Phoenix, I need this to not be available for PO for atleast another year haha I need some time to save for Vampi, Batgirl, Power Girl, and Emma lol

I just want Storm in her black costume. I'm fairly certain I can work around anything else. My biggest challenge then would be eating a 90's Lee Cyclops. Man, I HATE that costume with a passion.
