I didn't say she was unimpressive because of lack of detail in her costume. I even recognized the apples to apples comparison between her and Ms. Marvel and Spider-Woman. Is this how people reacted to Ms. Marvel? Maybe I just don't recall that. Are people thinking she is super "hot" or "beautiful" or something? That's what I'm wondering. Because if so it just seems like there are "sexier" statues to get excited over more than this one. I'm not saying this statue is bad or that anyone is crazy, I'm just trying to "get" the particular level of excitement over this one.

Pfff jean grey is close to be my favorite x-men, and the Phoenix transformations where crazy xD but i believe in the new x-men comic she has an awesome look too would be Great PF or custom

Well said. Sure there are sexier statues but that's not whats driving the popularity here. Its because its a great representation of an iconic comic character/story line. Likely the best!

basically I agreed with you she is iconic, and for me she is my favorite in the stories especially the older stories where pretty good, and i said in the new story there is a new skin thats great for an cool statue not as phoenix but still jean grey.

I know the paint up is a comic accurate depiction and it's great imo, and even though I may get stoned for this I'd like to see her done is a variant color scheme of something more sinister along the lines of Dark Phoenix.

Looking at the unpainted proto with the phoenix behind her my mind always painted her uniform in these sinister, fiery tones - red, orange, gold and black - so the green hasn't registered in my brain yet.

Dynamic and artistic creative excellence. No boring static museum poses. Furthermore....I don't think there is anybody more gung-ho and excited over the coming CotD statues than me....but none....and I mean NONE.....come close to the dynamic pose of Phoenix. Kier would be the closest but even she is lagging behind in that department!

JTBC....this is not a which is better or vs. thing....just a what is more dynamic. I love the CotD because it is a unique and highly detailed line, but going off the fact Jean is a Marvel character and is not one of the more interesting looking characters like say....Dormammu....what is done is damn near absolute perfection from an artistic and sculptural standpoint of fictional comic characters. This piece with the Phoenix projection behind her makes this a centerpiece than just a part of a collection of statues. Don't know if I can say that about a macabre CotD piece.

For the record....CotD is my most anticipated line of statues right now....so this is not some trolling / flaming fanboy spouting nonsense.

In addition to everyone else responding to this...Regardless of scales there aren't any Phoenix statues in the past that looks so good like this one! Every other Phoenix statues in the past will be easily forgotten once this baby is out! The SDCC white Phoenix from Kotobukiya will look like a kids toy next to this XM product!

Oh but wait! We haven't even seen the completed bird yet! We will eventually see a distance shot of the whole thing to see how big of a presence it will have. All that imaginary power emanating from it...people who missed it will be craving for it...lust for it...want that power...

Sadly, yes. Since the time table for other XM releases has been delayed there's too many PO deposits, balance payments and/or shipping payments all hitting within the same time frame for me. A kinda worst case scenario but it's ok, as it allows me to keep focus on what pieces will really fit in my collection and what I'll have to enjoy through your pictures online.
