Having a statue that looks like painted skin is cheap looking IMO, weather it's folds here and there or something else to make it look more like a costume then some playboy bunny being painted with green paint.... If you want the spray on look then buy Bowen, with this costing almost $1k we should be given something with a bit more depth to the costume then painted skin. I thought the way SS did Batgirl was perfect with her outfit..

Jajajaja... I always read about these statues cost $1k. And you are right... except for one thing... THEY DON'T. The money you have to pay it's around that, but they only cost about $650-$680. The balance is just shipping, which is the standar for non-US residents (like me and many collectors around the world) have to pay for a big SSC statue like Apocalypse or Gladiator Hulk. In this case XM is offering great dinamic statues (not just a guy/girl standing in a plane base) with great QC and low ES for an extra $200. So stop complaining about the price or at least if you do, be accurate. You don't see any europeans or australians or south americans shouting about it. Just americans.
Welcome to the global reality! ;)

:goodpost: US collectors are sooooooooo spoiled. Usually they don't have to deal with high shipping costs, importtax, FedEX fees ect ect. But when they do it's crybaby crybaby crybaby all over the place. Welcome to the world us non-US collectors live in.

So this comes with only two switch-out heads? No other display variants

Well there is that GIANT PHOENIX behind her. XM bases statue switchout parts so as to keep their prices relatively consistent and lowish.

I haven't weighed in on how this looks paired, and damn if it isn't almost perfect. There are a few things that people have brought up, like the symbol being to high, but there is something about the head and neck that I can't put my finger on. I will have to think about it.

:goodpost: :exactly:

All the XM statues are so expensive comments puzzle me also. The statues are not that expensive for what you get if you are in one of the five licensed countries. Now if you don't live in one of those countries and you want it then you got to pay the big bucks to get it.

Not complaining about the price what I'm saying is I want more detail in my statues for the price, without shipping this statue will probably be over $600, that's comparable with GG Honey Trap statues and they have lots of depth and details to them... I understand some people want simplistic looking statues that look like they popped right off the pages of comic books, but at these prices + the high standard XM has already set with Magneto and others in regards to details, I would expect more detail from them on this statue... and yes I know the bird is not shown yet, but I'm strictly talking about Phoenix herself.

This is just my opinion and input (which XM has told everyone they want) on the statue thus far, I've been following XM since they first came up on the radar and have ordered all their statues thus far, I'm just making sure they're kept on their toes...

I'm inclined to agree myself. I do think she looks fantastic, but when you place her next to Magneto or next to Ms. Marvel she does seem to fall a little short when it comes to the little things. And as little as they may be, they all add up. Enough to make her a pass? Not even close. It's not that I think she looks bad or anything (not remotely), it's that she could look even better.

Somebody who gets it !!!! :goodpost:

I'm with you as well. If they sold her as is right now without the full firebird I would buy her :lol I'v gotten just about everything else from XM so far and love the company but there is always room for improvement. They are the pro's and well decide what needs to happen and what doesn't but sure does feel good to know they are listening. That's why I chimed in about her abs looking bulky. I know its a long shot but if they smoothed them out and tightened them up just a bit I would be through the roof and probably order way to many more statues of theirs.

Not to make it any more, but the comparison of prices are pretty bad. International collectors are referring to SS statues. Okay, I have seen postings that the average person spends 380 on a piece and will end up dropping 600 with shipping, customs, and all. Now let's drop maybe GH, that would probably come closer to 800 maybe 850. The average US collector will drop 800-1000 on an XM pieces.

So that's a terrible reasons. The only thing that an int. collector can say is that have been doing it longer. Can't be said they spend more than what Americans will drop. Just saying.

Regardless of that, she is one sexy mama! :rock:rock:rock

I'm okay as is; if she had nips :lecture:lol

$380 on SS statue?!? that was soooo last year, your looking $400+ now a days :)

Shipping will always be cheaper with SS pieces because they make so many of them and can ship them across the seas with bulk discounts since they have licenses to sell in those regions...

For me I accept what an XM is going to cost to get to my door, it's what you have to pay for a statue that's not licensed for our area and has very low Edition Size.... But for me ES and Quality are important so for now I'm willing to pay it.

If they change it, be prepared for the backlash, because clearly it will be your fault ;)

I think the black turtle neck of her suit kind of gets lost...makes her neck look kinda skinny. But, I think it's an illusion.

Very true, I just meant that when people say it's Americans bitching, it's not entirely correct :lol

I use to live in Mexico, and I know how that **** was a pain in the ass, but there is a misinterpretation of evidences.

I'm down to pay that too, just I have a deeper love for DC :monkey3

I don't wont a redo of the statue I just want more small details added to the statue to try and add a little bit more realism (as much as you can for a comic book character)..... As for the head, I think the symbol being so high up on her chest is also contributing to it, the top of the logo ends on her neck... once it gets lowered I think that will help...
