I thought Thanos was going to be a must buy for me but if Hulk is $400 to ship this guy will be the same more or less & I can't justify that unfortunately

XM are knocking all these characters out of the park but the prices of these pieces all in all is just :horror

So annoying

another 2 must haves.

Frick, it may be time to finally sell some of my smaller scale stuff...

Incredibly annoying. Yeah I couldn't justify it to myself either. But love how they look

Wolverine, Thanos, Jean and Magneto are the pieces I am anticipating most. If shipping is really close to $400, I would have to only get Wolverine. Thanos might win in the end. I don't know what's up with some of SS poses lately but I would hate to pass on those 3 just to have SS release them down the road and botch the poses. :gah:

Yup, that Magneto will be tough to pass on. Will depend mostly on the quality of their production pieces, like Cap. I need to know that they can deliver before I commit that kind of dough.

Secret Compass has XM HULK for $760 + $45 shipping (that's from wherever they are to California).... It's $638 (US Conversion) if you walked in and bought the statue in Singapore directly from XM, so your looking at $167 shipping not $400, unless of course your talking about a different country then US

Yeah. There are definitely cheaper ways than going straight through XM. Good find Dan.

I really really wish they would reconsider those prices.... I'd pay $400-500 for Cap or ironman, maybe even $550 but anything beyond that doesn't seem reasonable to me. Now Magneto, I understand being $700 with the throne and switch outs and all. But, if XM wants to get more licenses and directly compete with Sideshow in that states and UK as well (like people are hoping for), those prices will have to drop...

True, the quality has to be there in order to plunk down that much cash, especially since shipping is a lot more. However, I do believe that XM will nail these pieces so I am staying positive. :)

Secret Compass is the cheapest option I have heard of, thanks for the info. I was just hearing $400 shipping for Hulk to the US from an earlier post, I forgot what site that was through. So I figured worst case scenario shipping figures, I can definitely deal with $167.

Err... Secret Compass is based in US. I believe their prices listed on the site are in USD already

I was hoping Hulks price was that high on Secret Compass due to the size/shipping to the US being included also... but nope, they are all that same price :(

Yeah I was just saying that the Hulk statue bought directly from XM is $638 (no shipping)... I can buy from SC for $805 shipping included or from Specfictionshop.com for $756.87 shipping included... Only reason I brought it up was someone was saying the statue would cost $1000+ due to $400 shipping fees which isn't the case, at least not in the US

SC price of $769 includes what it cost them to get the statue from Singapore. $45 to ship it within the US is not bad considering it's size.

I'm sure if XM could get a license to sell in the US it would easily knock off $150 off the price tag we have to pay here. But SS has a iron clad lock on that license so I doubt XM will have it anytime soon. On the upside that means for couple hundred more we get Low ES and the statues will be semi-rare from the get go, so hardcore collectors will like that..

Just reading a statement that they are using a online registry system for all XM statues so you can make sure your not buying a recast, it also lets you know how rare the statue is in your area. All statues will have their own unique code. They also allow you to transfer ownership online in case you sell it or make it a gift to someone. Those that do register online are put into a lottery, the winner gets a statue painted by the XM painters themselves and signed by the artists along with some other goodies...

IMO, XM is really creating statues for the serious collector.... It's pretty cool stuff... I'm really excited about this company.

Where can one read about this "iron clad lock"?

ok maybe an exaggeration on my part, but SS does have the license to make Marvel Comic Status in the US at 1:4 scale... until that license expires or they don't meet Marvel's expectations then I don't see XM getting a license to sell 1:4 scale Marvel Comic statues in North America anytime soon.

Gentle Giant has 1:4 Marvel statues coming out like Iron Patriot & Igor in North America so it seems the license isn't exclusive to SSC. :huh

Marvel, for some reason, likes giving exclusive licenses. They do this in the video game industry too. The reason we have not seen Ultimate Alliance 3 is becsuse only one studio can have the license at one time. That is also why the DLC would disapear after some time.

Those are movie related. Different license then thr comics.

Ah, that clarifies things. Gracias! :hi5:
