Thanks Khev, I think this Luke has a lot of potential.

My guess is next week as more people have him the opinions will be more positive. But if not I'm still happy with 'em.

I suspect that the silent majority are, like me, quite happy with Yavin Luke. Sure, the paint job might be a letdown, but I reckon it's still the best "young Luke" sculpt yet. And it's great to have him in his "default" outfit between Episodes IV and V, when he was still a young Star Warrior with the galaxy at his feet!
That said, Luke is proving the hardest likeness to nail, by any manufacturer.

I beg to differ, I think Sideshow's Lukes are quite accurrate to Hammil, and if nothing else, I think Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn is by far a more illusive sculpt as I've yet to see too many pieces that come even close to ballparking his image.

I agree. I think both Lukes look like him at that point in his life. Viggo is much harder to nail overall than Hammil has been.

All nits aside he looks pretty good on the shelf.

Don't get me wrong, they're impressive ... most impressive! Just not as bang-on as, say, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Qui-Gon.

I'll agree there, but I wouldn't say they're off to the extent of saying Hammil is the hardest likeness to capture, as I said, VM as Aragorn is deffinately showing as more of a challenge than Hammil, and I don't know where licensing rights get involved, but in some instances, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow seems to be a challenge for some too.

Luke's upset that Daddy took his medal away.

Sorry, I was actually only referring to Star Wars characters. But now that I think of it, you could probably add Han to that category also.

Yes, horrid, ain't it? I remember the 12" Luke exclusive being on Ebay for $300 shortly after if was sold out at Sideshow...

It's still on eBay for $220 right now, I keep my eyes peeled because I didn't understand the PPO system on that figure, it was my first PPO Sideshow purchase, so I missed the Exclusive and would like to get it someday if possible.
