Yavin Luke image thread

The jacket looks no better than Hasblo's and that deer-caught-in-the-headlights expression on his face is atrocious. The eyes are painted terribly. Looks nothing like Hamill. Can't wait to see our talented trio of customizers repaint this one. That is one sorry Sideshow release. I'm seriously thinking about sending mine back when it gets here. I'll wait for Tatooine Luke.

So you don't have this figure in hand yet? Because from looking at images of the Hasbro Cermony Luke and comparing to the figure I have, the question of superior quality is not an issue.

He is a bit wide-eyed looking (still not as bad as Aragorn), but I think people who don't have him yet are again overreacting to photos that don't capture the figure in the round.

Wow. I'm not sure what's going on here, but mine (which arrived today) doesn't look a thing like the one pictured above; it's MUCH beter. Maybe this one is a particularly lousy paint job or photo?

While I agree that the production piece has its shortcomings compared with the final version, it doesn't seem all that bad. He just seems a tad bit wide-eyed, but nowhere near as much as the photo above.

It's just a straight-up photo of the figure. I even made sure to do it with no flash so it would be seen in a natural light setting. It's exactly what my figure looks like.

Those pictures tell me all I need to know and that is I'm in for a disappointment, i.e. Bespin Han. I'll let you know Tuesday. I'm sure it will look marginally better in-hand but I'm not holding out any high expectations. I've been let down several times with this line before and if it looks really bad I'm sending it back.

I think it's still nice, but not as nice as the Jedi Luke's sculpt, which I really don't see how they can top. I could care less about it's size, when people see it they say "Luke!" not "melon-head!" I think it's perfect. This one is nice though, I just hope the paint job is more detailed for Tatooine Luke.

I'd been planning to do the same thing with Hasbro's outfit before Sideshow announced their Yavin Luke. I think SS has done a good enough job for me not to bother.

I don't think Sideshow can nail Luke's headsculpt. Their Jedi Luke's HS was one of the worst SS heads ever until I saw Yavin Luke. However, Yavin Luke's clothes and gear are nice!!!

No biggie, I took my GG headsculpt and BBI G1 body and put on SS's Yavin Luke's clothes and gear.

Do you guys think this is an improvement?

That head looks awful, the SS head ownes that for sure. And the expression sure doesn't fit the scene. He just blew up the Death Star and gets a shiney prize, why all depressed looking??

Because he's thinking really hard that the chick he wants to nail (who's in front of him with some great cleavage) looks kind of familiar and he can't place her----

I'm not a fan of the headsculpt... especially the hair... GG just didn't do well on that one IMO. He looks like an altar boy, part in the middle is just odd looking.

But its not a sin... I dunno the face looks a closer match but the expression and hair are off.

The GG sculpt makes him look depressed... or like he just ate a giant burrito and is trying to hold back a liquid **** storm.

Here is a great picture from Saltyrgreen at RS. Especially great because this is how I will pose Luke when I get him on Tues. (I think he looks better without the jacket, really).

I'm actually doing something similar with mine using an extra lightsaber from Anakin. But I think he can still look cool with the Jacket on.

I like that last pose. I will be posing him in the standard pose of him getting his medal. I will have anakins lightsaber on his belt though.

Those eyes are truly horrid. He looks like he's trying to hypnotize you. Awful. The more pictures I see the more I hate it. I really regret buying it now.
