I was going through some old photos on my computer and came across this Han pic I took before the repaint. The face gives me the same vibe as Yavin Luke.

I agree it looks much better than the Hasbro effort but there are two things that need to be raised here I think.

The Hasbro figure was made a number of years ago, action figure production techniques have improved since then, so really comparing a figure made now to a figure made say 5 years ago, isn't really fair for that reason. I'm not for a minute suggesting Hasbro could make a better 1/6 than Sideshow, but they could probably make a better job of it now, than when this figure was released x number of years ago.

Also as others have said price is a factor, the Sideshow Luke is $67.00 and the Hasbro is $20.00, because the Hasbro is a mass market toy aimed at kids chiefly and collectors as a secondary market, the SSC figures are mainly aimed at collectors.

There's no two ways about it as far as I'm concerned, the level of quality is just not there with this figure and saying it's not as bad as a Hasbro mass market figure made years ago, isn't really a defence, at least as far as I'm concerned.

Coco, sadly im being honest and not even trying to be an ass.

How much is the hasbro luke, like $20?

Do you guys honestly see a $50 difference between the two?

Nash, your comment doesn't even come close to making you an ass, especially when you compare it to others comments(*coughdekdavecough*):lol

But I'm not talking value anyway. Hasbro's crap isn't worth $20 and I wouldn't call Yavin Luke a value either but when quality is the comparison then SSC Luke is head and shoulders above Hasbro.

And I'm not attempting to use that picture as a defense, but as an illustration. If someone says:"grumble, grumble... no better than Hasbro" its easy to produce proof that it is far better.

And I agrere if Hasbro made a new one it would be better than there past effort, but looking at their last releases I don't think it would be much better.

Come on Pix! You can buy an Art S Buck for $20...you just got screwed out of $30. LOL.

Seriously, even if the face sculpt isn't perfect, the jacket is much much better.

The boots and the pants, on the other hand, are not remarkable upgrades.

I say this is 2x better than Hasbro, but not 3x or 4x.

Good, JTR, how is your Medi collection?

Hitting the skids at the moment, saving to get married, I'm kinda back into some of the 3 3/4 inch Hasbro range, mainly to fund my collecting habit without spending too much cash, but I also like the McQuarrie stuff they're coming out with.

Picked up the Blackhole Trooper earlier in the year and got the Jango Fett on preorder at the moment though.

Hopefully more stuff will be unveiled soon.

You still posting over on RS, been back there a couple of times recently but haven't seen your name around.

Yes, I am a much more frequent poster there, but a lot of people I think moved here.

I've made a few posts there recently mainly in the CTR section, but I noticed there were loads of names I didn't recognise anymore.

I was really surprised because it was less than a year since I posted there, I know lots of people are posting here now.

But I wonder if some have given up collecting SW totally and moved on, anyway nice to hear from you mate:D
