So you guys really enjoyed Sherlock Holmes? It's not available for a month on Netflix, but I am hesitant about a blind buy. I can get it for close to $15 at Meijers though, since I have some unused bottle return coupons :)

Yep i really enjoyed it and know a few guys here that liked it as well. :)

I got in on that deal at Target this week for Hellboy II for $10! AMAZING DEAL!

I have to say I've been trying to be VERY picky with buying blu ray movies because I don't really collect them or get time to go back and watch them. I've tried to limit myself to my very favorites and Hellboy II is good, but not one of my favorites. I just watch too much current stuff that I don't get back to a lot of the older ones to warrant buying them all.

At $10 though, that's crazy. The biggest reason I bought it (I DO like it, don't get me wrong) is this was, possibly is, the best Blu Ray I've watched for picture quality. Just blew my mind the first time I saw it and it's one I would definitely show if someone was over to check out my home theater.

Yes, I was refering to PQ. As a flick, I prefer Hellboy to HB II. It's good and fun, but nothing exceptional.

But it's a GREAT looking blu, nice reference material. The sound mix wasn't fantastic, but it was certainly good enough.

I read that on Bluray.com and decided I don't care because I have to have it either way.

LOL.

Just got:

Princess and the Frog
Sherlock Holmes
Alvin and the Chipmunks 2

Sweet haul !

I really want Holmes, but I will wait a little as it seems fresh in my mind since seeing it in the theater.

I loved Hellboy 2 on blu, as far as Sherlock Holmes. I'm scarred to do a Blind-Buy, the trailer didn't look to appealing. I figured I'd wait til it hits clearance.

I don't think you will be disappionted. I thought it was great.

Alright, I took my $9 in bottle return slips and broke down and bought Holmes at Meijers for $16. And yes, I realize I technically paid $25, but don't shatter my sense of value.

The only reason I did this is because damn Netflix won't have it for a month. I'm seriously considering dropping them and switching to Blockbuster online. While BB charges for streamed movies, I almost never stream anything right now, and their 3 a month, no store swaps plan is $3 cheaper than Netflix. Does anyone use BB online? How fast do your movies show up when they ship?

I don't use BB, but Netflix is ticking me off on recent releases. I haven't seen anything recent because they always say Long Wait or Very Long Wait in my queue.

I rarely have that problem, as long as I have an open slot on Tuesday morning. I'm just not happy with their embargo that they agreed to with WB.

Yeah, maybe I need to time my returns better so I'm open on Tuesdays.

That's what I do, man. When there is a new release I just return my movies on the Saturday before. They get them that Monday and then I get any new release that I put at the top of my queue.
But yeah, I know what you guys mean about the waiting 30 days on the WB movies. And then there is the added Blu-ray charge. Grrrr!:monkey4
But I do stream tv shows on Netflix, so I am all sorts of conflicted right now about switching.

I was kind of pizzzed about the Netflix thing for a bit too.

I cancelled my Blu subscription with them once I got my 120 hz tv. Using the motion flow deal I didn't see the point in renting Blu from them for a bunch of comedies and dramas that look TERRIFIC upscaled anyways. The WB thing did irk me a bit but that's not really their fault right?

Mostly I have enough movies in my queue that I don't mind waiting the additional 30 days for them to become available. I get to watch about 2 movies a week with my current schedule so it's not really a big deal overall for me.

I do try to manipulate when I get movies sent back to them though so I can be ready for any new releases for the week. Usually I get some pretty good stuff although I had to wait for quite awhile on Couples Retreat....that one took forever!

They are just a great company IMO. Pretty da** easy and straightforward, which I'm all about. Plus I just finished watching the complete season 4 of 30 Rock last night and I love that they are getting more and more cool stuff to stream.
