Beauty and the Beast on blu. The only Disney movie that I have been anticipating the release of for years.

Todays haul. :yess:

Hey I enjoyed it. I never thought for a second it would touch the original, but it did bring some good stuff to the table. Freddy is finally scary again for the first time in over 20 years. :pfft:

~~I figured I'd share the wealth because I know a lot of people like this movie. Let the Right One In and Daybreakers are $12.99 on Amazon today.

Picked up Beauty & the Beast Blu @TRU. Was $8.69 after Disney upgrade coupon, TS3 PreOrder discount, and this week's ad discount. :yess:

Picked up the following on Blu-Ray:
Iron Man 2
Batman/Superman: Apocalypse
Batman:Under the Red Hood
Beauty and the Beast

The did a great job on the BR mastering and special features for IM 2. I especially liked Jon Favreau's commentary on the deleted scenes. "You're watching deleted scenes with director's commentary? You are a geek!"

Apocalypse was cool, not the best Direct to video DC animated but fun to watch. Really fluid animation, lots of effort put into the fight choreography. Good voice acting, but Darkseid's voice wasn't very menacing, just meh. Maybe the thing you should know if you haven't bought it yet - this isn't really a Superman or Batman movie, it's main character is Supergirl, and if you're cool with that then her story is pretty well done here.

I really dug the Green Arrow short feature. Joaquim Dos Santos directed, and he did the Jonah Hex and The Spirit cartoon shorts recently. He also directed the upcoming "The Return of Black Adam". It's time to give him a full DC Animation feature to direct.

I was pulled away from watching "Under the Red Hood", but it looks like the better of the two I purchased. I need to get back to that one ASAP.

I'm really psyched that Timm is producing the Green Lantern Animated series. I hope it's an extension of the earlier Timm/Dini-verse series.

I won't see the Beauty and the Beast Blu Ray until Christmas, we're giving that one to my little girls. I expect that one to play on infinite loop after they open it.

Man I really wanted to see this, but seeing it's not a Supes or Bats movie I'll pass on buying it then.

For those interested in the Evil Dead, the one for $10 at Best Buy is the single disc version...but Meijers has the two disc version for must $13 this week! And I have heard that some folks have gotten lucky and found the two disc version at their local BB for the uber-cheap $10 as well.
