Decisions, decisions...

If it makes the decision more complicated, someone posted on the blu-ray forum that they got this last week for $27 shipped. :slap :gah:

I decided to skip the Alien Anthology and ordered the Dirty Harry collection. Heck of a price for that set.

Thanks for the pic Gibby - still undecided. There is no question though that I like the US packaging more. If I had known about the $27 shipped deal though, I would have pulled the trigger.

hairless - I'd like a region-free player, but I love my PS3 too much. Any ideas on how to make it region-free?

No problem! :hi5:

Agreed. $27 would have been an easy pick up!

From everything I've read, that I have concluded as well... Damn Regions. Seriously, aren't we global? A movie is a movie, what's the big difference if it's shown in the UK or the US?

License, i think. Fox might release a movie in the US but another company will release it in the UK and Europe. All Criterion releases are Region Locked because the license contract they have is only good in the US.
It sucks but it's not as bad as when Blu-Ray's first came out.

Yeah, I realize it's due to licensing, but it's just annoying that there are different licenses for the US and rest of the world.

But I hear you, it definitely looks like things are getting better. I remember when DVDs were big, I rarely heard the term Region-free unless it was some low budget film that wasn't constrained by all these licensing issues.

All the DVD's are still locked to the various regions but you can make your DVD player region free by just typing in a small code or whatever. But these Blu-Ray players are locked and need updating all the time. Hopefully some day, they will come with a patch that will make it region free.

Hey guys speaking about region free blu-ray's here is a link that
lists all region free blu's. I find it comes in handy when I purchase
blu-rays from other countrys. The list is also kept up to date and contains every blu released so far.

How long does this sale run for? This is an AWESOME deal. I've always wanted to get into the show. I've seen about 4 - 5 episodes and loved it.

I'd like it on Blu....BUT, I don't know if this deal is worth passing up. Because even when the Blu comes out, it's price won't go down anytime soon.
