picked up LOTR extened editions trilogy on blu at bestbuy for 50 buck and the M:I 1,2, and 3 blurays for 10 bucks each.

Decided to stay home, rather than attend some inane holiday party, and thought it would be a good idea to make a solid attempt to watch one of my sadly disregarded Criterion blus tonight.

So, I got them all organized, and realized, I have 17 blus in the collection and have only viewed 8. Gonna give "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" a viewing, and watch the rest as time allows during my winter break.

Then make the fatal decision, will I continue collecting the Criterions I feel worthy, or jettison the entire project. I'm already considering halving my blu ray collection as it is, and only keeping the most cherished films, to my taste anyway.

I'm putting myself in moratorium mode on buying new films. Only the most important films, or those I absolutely know I will watch over and over again will make it into the collection from here on out.

Jaws is one I know is coming that will be a must own. :D

I'll still be watching all of your blu ray hijinks and shenanigans... :panic:

Oh yeah, forgot to mention too, that I'm having Tim Tams as my snack with my Criterion blu ray...

Those Australians sure have good taste in cookies! :D

BTW, what the hell is up with the Benjamin Button case being a regular blu ray case and not the spiffy Criterion version of case?

Looked at Amazon trade in and I could basically buy all of next semester's textbooks if I decided to trade in my tiny Criterion collection...

Hmmm... (I'm so broke. :()

I blind buy more Criterion discs than from anybody else, and I really don't think I've ever been disappointed by anything they've put out. There's a lot of stuff I've checked out that I would probably never have seen (or even heard of) if not for Criterion. I have a few on the shelf now that I picked up recently on sale that haven't been viewed yet and so I have some catching up to do over Christmas vacation.

Same here Tom, same here. :)

I'm thinking of doing this as well, especially with the Criterion Blu-rays. Of course I keep telling myself this every time, but I never listen. :monkey2

Picked this up in Germany yesterday! I was really happy to stumble upon it because the Dutch release is still 2-3 weeks away I think. Plus we're not getting this awesome steelbook I believe! :woo :yess: :rock

It's because it's not a true Criterion release. It's Paramount. I'm not sure how much of a hand Criterion had in it, other then cover design.

Hey IronFigaz, I have a question for ya. Do you keep your Criterions separated from your other Blu-rays? I know you probably posted a picture before but I'm too lazy to search tonight. :rotfl:rotfl
