luckily there wasn't much in the garbage since yesterday....could have sworn I threw it away Friday morning but I'm glad I didn't.

Just a heads up - There are a bunch of Fox Blu-rays on sale with $10 ticket codes for Prometheus. I picked up Fight Club on sale for only $10, basically getting it for free.

Great haul, my friend!!:hi5::yess::yess:

:hi5: I always love buy 2 get 1 free sales. Though I usually end up buying more than I should haha. I haven't seen the appleseed, vexxile or shaolin, but heard pretty good things.

Appleseed is excellent. You will not be disappointed. There is an earlier film too, very different in tone and style, but you should get that one as well...

A little late here, but I'd go with Castle. :wave

That's what I got ! Thanks bro.

Arrietty is awesome. I have the Japanese Blu-ray and watched that a couple months ago. Now I'm looking forward to the English dub.

I think I would have like the japanese dub better. :/

i kept getting flashbacks to the 80's film Borrowers which is the book this one is based on.

Hey gang! I know some of you have LD players and still love the medium as it is the only way to get certain films which studios continually refuse to release on bluray in high definition. Well, with the release of the Dragonslayer print from Mondo yesterday, it made me want the best representation I could get of the film in my library. There is a LD version, and a few DVDs but no bluray as of yet...

So my questions: :D

Who here still has working LD players? (I never have)I still have one, but would not mind picking up another with a toslink connection in the back.

Is it worth the effort to get a player for just a few titles? (maybe Star Wars) depending on the price, I would say why not. Especially for titles like Star Wars.

What is a good player to look for and where should I look? I stuck with Pioneer, look for a digital out and a auto turnover function.

Is there a thread for this or another site I should reference?

Maybe... if you find one let me know !

SSF is the first place I go for information of this type, so hook a fellow freak up, direct me, or PM me. Whatever! :hi5:

I have a laserdisc player in the closet. I still have all my Star Wars and Indiana Jones lasers. I've always been tempted to track down a few odds and ends, but haven't gotten around to it.

I would say it's worth having one for some obscure stuff. There are also some really nice box sets that might be worth getting as well. If you do get one, make sure it will play both sides so you don't have to flip the disc. I'll always remember those days fondly.

You and me both ! God I loved the medium. Any one remember Ken Cranes Laserdisc?

Thanks for all the great information Triple J. :D

I went ahead and bought the HD version of Dragonslayer on iTunes, which comes with the standard version as well. One day, I'll figure out how to connect my Air to the TV and give it a watch there. Until then, I have it on the hard drive for viewing during my long summer...
