Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Finally watched Return of the Living Dead from front to back. A lot of fun and never seen it in it's entirety before. Now I decide whether insidious or Trick R treat next.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

I had to do it...I re-watched Insidious. Still some great scary moments at the beginning of the film. But um, a lot less scary then I remembered.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

I just picked up seasons 6 & 7 of Tales from the Crypt, and 1-4 are on the way. I'm hoping to pick up season 5 in a couple weeks. That should be enough to keep my television full until the 31st.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Supposed to be a new Tales series in the works. :yess:

That could be a great thing, but now that I'm three weeks from owning the entire original series, I give it permission to be a terrible thing too if it wants.

tales from the crypt = all kinds of awesome

I haven't been this excited for some horror tv in a long time.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

I love insidious but it did not scare me at all, all my friends kept telling me how scary it was
It is a great movie, It is a Really Great movie, the gas mask scene omg

but, nothing in the movie scared me, I usually get freaked out by ghost movies, but this one to me was more Cool than scary,

Like the ghosts looked like regular people, with make up, which is not bad, they could have looked scarier, and I Loved the demon, I loved his room, it was awesome, but then again, cool but not scary, really good movie though

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Watched Insidious tonight, I have to say I was let down in the middle of the movie whenever they started to figure out what was going on with the boy. :(

but.... from the beginning man did it have me hooked, great potential if that would of kept up throughout the entire movie, there's a point where I felt it just got silly for some reason.

Here is what I have to say to both:

I think they failed when it came to the demon. He just looked like Darth Maul. That to me was really, really stupid. The Astral Projection stuff was great. But the way it was delivered in the film really came out too cheesy. I was let down by that. I also thought they could have handled the end with the old lady much better.

The music used was brilliant. Chilling to the bone.

Points of most interest for me were the baby monitor scene at the beginning when she's playing piano and hears the voices, and then the mans voice comes in clearer, and louder, etc. That was scary.

The most scary part to me was the man in the baby's room behind the curtain. Creeps me out still just to think about it.

The doll like family, etc. I thought was a bit out of place and not scary enough. And I didn't like the 'walking through the dead to get back home' part. Looked cheesy.

This movie had a lot of good and some not so good. The use of Tiny Tims song did a number on me. Creepy sounding but I've been singing it non stop since I saw the film. That is not cool!
I watched it a second time just to get a better feel for it. Not as scary as my first view, of course.

From what i heard, its not the anthology style series that Tales From the Crypt used to be, its an ongoing series. I LOVE the original series, watched it constantly when i was a kid.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

We watched Room 1408 last night..not as good as I had hoped it would be..not bad for 6 bucks blu ray from Amazon. Might watch Insidious tonight after we hit the haunted farm/cornmaze/hayride.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

watched Scream 4 2 times since I got it

Saw it twice in theaters and watched it again last night. It gets better with each viewing, I think.

Hmmm. Seem like it's getting more popular in it's home release than in theaters. Hearing a lot of the same. Probably pick it up next week.
