Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Just finished watching Insidious, as I really want to keep up with this thread. :)

It was pretty scary and had me jumping a few times.

So glad I sold my 1:1 Darth Maul bust.

Did anybody notice how he "force pushed" the demon with the black trenchcoat before entering the red door :lol There was some extreme Star Wars references in this movie

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Watched Insidious tonight, I have to say I was let down in the middle of the movie whenever they started to figure out what was going on with the boy. :(

but.... from the beginning man did it have me hooked, great potential if that would of kept up throughout the entire movie, there's a point where I felt it just got silly for some reason.

Almost same for me too. I thought this movie was gonna suck from the cheesy acting, but then when things started to happen in the house, it got to me and was sort of freaky. Was enjoying until towards the end....

when the father went to the other side to look for his son.

At that point I felt it lost it's "scariness" that was being brought up to that point. Kinda wish they didn't go that route. Showed to much and should kept it with the "less is more" mentality.

It definitely was entertaining to say the least though.

It brought me back to this...man to me this movie was just magic with how it portrayed the other side! :rock

^^^ I've even thought about making this dude in 1/6 but there's one thing. It would really creep me the ____ out look at something like that at night with shadowing, etc...

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

OMG don't say that please. I watch part 2 on blu the other day (for some reason I thought it was better than part 1) but I love Cane's character in the movie. Especially when he went up to the house singing that church music.....freaky and creepy as hell. Saw part 3 yesterday on netflix, which I actually like better than part 2. But if you do a 1/6 Cane from part 2, I'm gonna cave in and have to jump at that.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Think he died just after filming P2?

:lecture:lecture:lecture

I think it's crazy but Spielberg is just a genius, anything I have ever watched from him has this sort of magic that really just keeps you interested in the characters, the story, and almost feel like a part of the movie. Maybe I'm just silly but it really has this effect on me. I know he was just the co-writer of Poltergeist but you can tell that it's his style.

The wife and I watched this the past year and all over again, almost the same feeling as E.T.

Yup, If I ever come across an old man singing a religious song walking up to my front door, the shotgun is coming out.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

I know this may sound bad, but besides Cane(from part 2), but that little old lady, Tangerine or something scared me too when I was young.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Not horror, but I finally got around to starting Ben-Hur on BD. Probably the best looking film I've seen on the format.

At first I read that as horrible mentions and I saw Halloween and Beetlejuice on there and I was like WHAAAA? But then I re-read and saw honorable. :wink1:

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Anyone seen "Intruder"? I see Netflix has it and has Bruce Campbell, Sam and Ted Rami in it.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

Just watched "the Fly". Anything I knew about this prior to my first viewing was from the Simpsons Treehouse of horror series :)
