Got my Halloween 2 collectors edition blu ray the other week and have been patiently waiting until Halloween night to watch it back to back with the first movie. However I just found out that the original Halloween will be playing at my local cinema on Halloween night. Soooo excited to see it on t,he big screen, probably my only chance. Tickets booked. Can. Not. Wait.
So I reckon I'll just watch Halloween 2 now instead. Can't wait to see what the transfer is like.
Russell1982, I'll have to check that out soon. Last time I watched Halloween '78 was on one of the special edition DVDs--really interested seeing the increase in quality of sound and picture going to Bluray. Thanks for reminding me to do this!
BTW I'm new to the forums so just wanted to say hi and its nice to meet you all!

Not everyone was pleased with those choices. But then again, I think to myself some of my friends watching are not big into horror movies or movies in general for that matter haha. But that's ok, I have you guys to discuss it with

Double feature tonight. City of the Living Dead and one I've never seen before - Prom Night. Haven't seen City of the Living Dead since it was in the theater (looooog time ago) and I actual think it was called Gates of Hell.
Trying really hard not to watch John Carpenter's Halloween until the theatrical release next week.
How is the t.v. version? Is it worth watching?
Damn, that sounds like a lot of fun.
Once that Halloween theme song starts playing I'd probably get chills.
Hope you enjoy that!
To be fairly critical, the Halloween blu ray, while sharp, doesn't seem to have the robust colors of the previous DVD release. Many of the nighttime blues are less saturated than they used to be. I'd like to see them take another crack at it.
A new BD of Halloween will probably come out next year for the anniversary. This one is posted without a street date yet https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Halloween-Blu-ray/54082/
Please, please, please use the original color timing.![]()
I've been skimming through Tales From the Crypt and one episode from season 2 called Cutting Cards stood out. Lance Henrikson is a loser gambler who doesn't know how to back down from a bet, and Kevin Tighe is just as bad, but not so much the loser and he wants Henrikson out of town for good. Brilliant Russian roulette sequence. Definitely worth checking out on youtube.
