Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, Saw, 28 Days later, and Cloverfield Have no place on a top 10 horror list. Top 40? Maybe.(minus Cloverfield, lol)

They're dark comedies with horror elements, but I still lump them in with movies to watch around Halloween, especially Rocky Horror. Little Shop of Horrors is more of a Spring movie for me for some reason.

I'm a couple of days late to report, but I finished off Halloween night with two of my personal favorites: The Fly (1986) and John Carpenter's The Thing.

The night before that was The Evil Dead and The Exorcist. :)

:lecture Both remakes.
Those are four great movies to end your Halloween season.

Last movie for me was The Exorcist. :rock

I think I'm going to keep working through my preliminary list. Too much I wanted to see at the beginning of the month that I didn't get to.

Definitely. Sleepy Hollow and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown also fit that category.

Does anybody know the title of the black and white movie the kids are watching in the original Halloween?
Almost missed this...

Funny you should ask, because I just got through posting that Carpenter's 1981, The Thing, is a remake. Well, that movie the kids are watching happens to be the original 1951, The Thing From Another World. :)

I love Little Shop and Rocky Horror. It's hard to call them horror movies, though.

Yeah I know what you mean man, was just being silly really. Although its a horror comedy I do generally think of it as more a comedy than horror. Still fun to watch around Halloween. I also enjoy the great pumpkin and Halloween is grinch night, and plenty of treehouse of horror episodes from the simpsons. But don't consider them horror really. But they're fun stuff to watch during the day around the Halloween season as I would rather watch films during the evening/night.

Re: Your October/Halloween Movie List 2013

It's that time of year again where we start to not only make a list of all the movies we plan to watch, but some of us actually start watching them way early. So let's see them, what's first up on your list, and so on...
