Re: Your October/Halloween Movie List 2013

It's that time of year again where we start to not only make a list of all the movies we plan to watch, but some of us actually start watching them way early. So let's see them, what's first up on your list, and so on...

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do this year. Last year I did 70-90's marathons from Halloween to Hellraiser. This year I might mix it up a bit....maybe go Classic Italian gore films and Have a Fulci, Argento and Bava week.

I haven't watched The Beyond or Opera in a while.

A group of friends and I are all obessed with horror films. For the past 7 years we have been getting together every Wedensday to watch a film or two. We watch everything from classics to ****ty B films. This year we decided to tackle this list that came from Timeout in London. The 100 greatest horror films. Alright, so I gave it some thought and I’m not going to start as early as some of you, but I am going to do 31 days of Horror for Halloween. What I did decide is that every week, 7 days, will have a Genre attached to it. The last three days will also have a Genre, appropriate for leading up to Halloween night.

So here it goes:

Week 1 – You can’t have Slaughter without Laughter (Dark Humor/Horror Comedies)

1. Tales from the Crypt Demon Knight
2. The Convent
3. Return of the Living Dead
4. The Gate
5. Dead Alive
6. Evil Dead 2
7. Army of Darkness
Week 2 – Blood on the Pages (Horror from Acclaimed Authors
1. Candyman
2. Creepshow
3. The Exorcist
4. Pet Sematary
5. Children of the Corn
6. The Shining
7. Hellraiser
Week 3 – It Came from Beyond… (take a guess)
1. Altered States
2. Event Horizon
3. Invasion of the Body Snatchers
4. The Blob
5. The Thing
6. Killer Klowns from Outer Space
7. Alien
Week 4 – Masters Of Horror (Movies by Some of My Favorite Horror Directors)
1. In the Mouth Of Madness (John Carpenter
2. Night of the Living Dead (George A. Romero)
3. An American Warewolf in London (John Landis)
4. Poltergeist (Tobe Hooper)
5. The Brood (David Cronenberg)
6. Zombi (Lucio Fulci)
7. Opera (Dario Argento)
The Final Three Days of October – Masked Killers
1. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 30th Anniversary Special Edition
2. Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood

That's a nice list. I've seen all but 4 of those.

Not surprised to see The Exorcist at #1.
That movie holds up very well every year.

This list doesn't include the movies that are done by certain tv stations like Syfy. Yes I do try to watch a bunch of those and other low budget horror every year. You never know when you will find a gem. I'm still waiting but I think it will come.

Awesome list BG. :hi5:
I'll be watching a lot of those too.

Glad to see Dead Silence in there. That one goes under the radar usually. Lots of intense scenes and an awesome plot twist!

Oh yeah... Trick R Treat FTW! :rock

Ditto, to all three of those.

So you saw the Shout Factory release of The Fog? I was going to forward it to you, but your email was not automatically entering in my email app, so I just gave up.

I will double dip, triple dip, quadruple dip, on Halloween! :D

I had The Fog on DVD and this will be my second BD since I currently only the region-free UK disc. This is supposed to be better, so I had to have it.

I had Halloween at least twice on DVD and own the current BD. Looking forward to that one again. I think I even owned it on laserdisc.
