Didn't know we had so many lefties in the bunch.:lol

It's the internet, dude. There are so many lefties it might as well be a Communist Party Convention. Sometimes I feel like I should probably go hang out at gun shows so I can maintain my balance. :lol

I took it, but I still think the questions are bull^^^^. They've mastered the art of the false alternative, and they presume way too much. It's like they've decided that there is only one basic political philosophy, and the only differences to consider are people's stands on the issues that arise in that context. I think the context--and the political philosophy--is false.

So I answered to the best of my abilities.

Here's mine. Yup I am kind of a hippie... an angry hippie but still.

Doesn't that kind of not make sense I thought Hippies where happy people. Or so my Dad says since he grew up during that time period.

Just like anything just because you may be shown to tend to go to the left/right doesn't meant thats the exact thing. I tend to be more of a moderate despite what this thing says.

I tend to have more of a problem with people who are always in the middle and can't make up their mind. :lol

I believe in many of the hippie ideas except I don't like most people and I am angry a lot. I want to save the Earth, bring down Big brother and big businesses but usually I am just pissed about it instead of proactive. :lol

Big business is responsible for your computer, your car, medical breakthroughs, the stores where you buy your clothes and groceries.

They may be soulless and amoral but they make life much easier and affordable.

So your like half hippie then? :lol

I see the statement as saying that entertainment should not be educational. As if to say that entertainment -- you know television and books and the internet and the like -- should be void of information.

No, it's asking if you think that the media is more concerned about getting people's attention with more entertaining bits rather than reporting real information.

Thank heaven I took goose stepping 101:cool:
The wording and options certainly telegraphs what the questioners leanings are.
Friggin' hippies.:peace

I thought so, too. I have taken several of these tests and always end up slightly to the right. That is very accurate.

Yeah my main problem with the whole system is that to make money others must be severely exploited. People get far too carried away with all of this and then lose any morals and ethics they had to begin with. I don't like most people because I really do think most of them are greedy animals. Very rarely will you find truly moral or altruistic people in life and you definitely won't find them in big business or the government.

I got center then down 2 squares.

Economic Left/Right: -0.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.95

Least i was no where near Gordon Brown.

I got news for ya, dude: you're no Moderate. This scale is perfectly aligned with your views. Your posts (including the ones in the "Who are you voting for?" thread) indicate that you're clearly leftist. And that's fine. To each his own. Be who you are. And you're certainly in the majority around here anyway. :lol

That's not the case for me at all. Like many true Moderates I fail to understand the more extremist views of both the liberals and the conservatives and almost always look for a more rational middle-ground. And it depends on the individual issues. On some I lean left, on some I lean right, and on others I am smack-dab in the center. It's not that I can't make up my mind. You know me well enough to know that I don't have a problem making up my mind on stuff. :lol However, at heart I'm just a pretty centered, laid-back person... and that comes through in my political beliefs as well.
