I think you guys are getting too emotional. The general movie going audience probably doesn't care about this Snyder Cut, nor did they care if it was eve made. You need to accept this as a gift, that you even got to see the movie as it was originally intended by Snyder. Snyder was either throwing a hail mary or trolling fans by giving them a cliffhanger ending showing the future as he well knows/knew the odds of continuation of his DCEU were slim to none. WB has done everything they can to put this behind them and move forward. I doubt they are gonna change direction. The HBOMax reviews don't mean much unless they are putting big numbers behind it. The Snyder fans are very vocal and want to make everyone believe this is the greatest movie ever, and everyone loves it. The "Everyone' part here though is in the tens of thousands, not the tens of millions across the world. That is what's needed for a billion dollar box office success. I doubt this would have ever made anywhere near what it would've needed to make if it was released in the theaters, even without the current pandemic, to get WB to change it's opinion and direction.
The $$ and praise needs to come from everyone. Not just the small Niche Comic Book fan market. AT&T is the one that greenlit the Snyder Cut, not WB. It was stated in various interviews by the head of WB. And as we've read, the majority of the footage was already shot. WB gave up on these quite some time ago and wanted nothing to do with this, thus the odd negative comments here and there. They're the movie studio, not AT&T. AT&T owns HBOMax. HBOMax is not a WB streaming exclusive service live D+. So unless AT&T get's into movie making, just because they own WB doesn't mean they can get them to do their bidding on something as big as reviving a failed concept.
Could this continue? Sure, anything is possible. But don't hold your breathe or get your undergarments in a bunch. Most likely, it isn't gonna happen and your just setting yourself up for anger and resentment. Enjoy your dark hero Snyder Verse trilogy, and move on.
