I think the MCU Phase 4, for me at least, is gonna be a big letdown. Luckily we got all the original MCU stuff before gender politics, diversity and pandering for the most part. Most rumors paint a bleak and sad future.

I dread what Thor 4 is gonna turn out to be, and the only other 2 I've had interest in was Dr. Strange 2 and what they do with the FF. Maybe Guardians v3 & Ant-Man. I'm mostly checked out. Could care less if/when I ever see Black Widow or Falcon & TWS. Could care less about Eternals & Shang Chi. Then Cap Mavel 2, BP2, all the D+ crap. I also don't want to see the MCU Spidey crossing over with other versions or somehow becoming linked to the current Sony Venom & Morbius garbage..

EG was a good finale for the MCU for me if need be. I can even easily ignore Spider-Man FFH.

Already got some race stuff in TFWS already. Had to roll my eyes on some of that. But agreed, Phase 4 is filler. The Eternals might be interesting story wise. I am starting to come around that Spidey3 is going to be a letdown. Dr. Strange 2 is the heavy hitter for me and I thought TFWS would be better, but we will see on the last 2 eps. Overall, I think everyone just wants to get to X-Men and F4.

There's plenty of room for "fun and safe" and "edgy, dangerous, unpredictable". But I do think Snyder is one of those guys who can let things go to his head quite quickly...
He should just let his movies do the talking, if people dig them, fine. No need to go around telling everybody how "great" you are.

Agreed, although I think Falcon/WS is very good. At the end of the day though, they had a DECADE of very popular movies and actually landed the plane on the culmination of those 10 years pretty darn well. I know some will disagree with Hulk's portrayal in Endgame or don't like Captain Marvel, etc. etc. but for the most part it was a heck of a fun ride. I can give them a pass right now if I don't see the excitement of their vision for Phase 4. I don't think I would've been excited for Dr. Strange if you'd told me about it before the MCU train got rolling...

Hmm, interesting, despite EG being a culmination film, I didn't feel a sense of closure with it. To be fair if people are referring the latest interview he did, he never actually mentioned Marvel is being fun and safe, unless I missed him specifically mention them. Pretty sure he just said his films aren't like that. If anything he's more on record praising Marvel than digging at them.

If you think for one second in a conversation about superhero movies that he didn’t mean the MCU, the most popular superhero brand in the world, then you are gravely being too innocent for your own good lol

Sure you can infer that if you want to, but within the phrasing he used he was more comparing his own films to what they are instead of what they aren't and also in relation to why fans like and dislike his films; why his films are controversial and what he sets out to do instead of what a boardroom wants him to do (you can infer here more a *** at WB's handling of JL than you can Marvel).

But hey ho, people gonna infer purposefully to get some digs at him!

Zach is st it again he just called the MCU Fun and Safe compared to his style which is Edgy, Dangerous and Unpredictable which he thinks fans want because they love the thrill ride knowing he will bring them back from the cliffs edge lol

Dangerous and unpredictable? Nah. More like 06 nu metal hot topic edgy. Nothing really complex about it. Marvel isn?t always safe. Look at infinity war. He has good ideas but he doesn?t do anything new in terms of hero movies.

It’s got to bug ZS that IW/EG were like rock concerts or sporting events with tons of videos on youtube showing emotional fans at screenings participating in only a way that a 10 year attachment to characters could accomplish.

Then ZSJL magnum opus gets released during a pandemic on TV with bathroom breaks.....ouch.
