The MCU is definitely "fun and safe" but Snyder's style isn't really any of those things unless you're 15 and wear a lot of black eyeliner. I'll give him moody and bombastic, and there's a place for those things, but dude is stuck in the '90s. I get it, that was a fun decade but come on, man.

A very good post but I do think the MCU is trying to elevate the drama with their recent D+ outings.

Edgy, dangerous, unpredictable? Those are literally exactly the reasons people didn?t like his take on DC. Bold choices.

Marvel generally doesn?t make them, one of the reasons their movies are crowd pleasers

Whether you agree with Zack or not is cool...but even as a marvel fan I can admit it has long gone stale....WV was poor Falcon and WS isnt bad. There is very little to look forward to going in MCU in the pipeline besides Black Widow.

Agreed, although I think Falcon/WS is very good. At the end of the day though, they had a DECADE of very popular movies and actually landed the plane on the culmination of those 10 years pretty darn well. I know some will disagree with Hulk's portrayal in Endgame or don't like Captain Marvel, etc. etc. but for the most part it was a heck of a fun ride. I can give them a pass right now if I don't see the excitement of their vision for Phase 4. I don't think I would've been excited for Dr. Strange if you'd told me about it before the MCU train got rolling...
