I agree, Cyborg really stuck out in JL like that game: one of these things is NOT like the others.
Movies are not comics. They need a level of believability that comics do not. They need to be more cohesive. Unified in their world. And more believable -- yes, to some degree.
Cyborg just looks ridiculous first of all. Like something a 12 year old would design. Secondly, his super powers don't mesh with the others. Perhaps if he was a more realistic cyborg I would put him in the real-world camp of Batman, but his cartoonish nature just doesn't fit, yet is not fantastic enough to be magical like WW, SM, AM and Flash. He could have easily been left out of the movie and Superman could have had the required skill to 'hear' and separate the mother boxes, that's why they needed to wake him.
But with snapping fighter-pilot para-demons, Steppin-wolfman, awkward-steppin Flash, long upper-lip Supes, and the other many oddities in this movie, its no wonder people feel a 4 hour version will clear things up.
