I also would have preferred to see Snyder's film but realistically I think this is the only way we would have actually gotten the chance to see this version. Even if his daughter had never died & he didn't leave the production as a result, the WB execs at the time were going to force him to lighten the tone and edit it down. He either would have had to make major compromises or leave over "creative differences". IMO one way or another the 2017 release was doomed.
And I agree those WB execs killed the DCEU, but JL was just the final nail in the coffin. Agreeing to fast track their superhero team-up by greenlighting BvS was where it all went wrong. They had the MCU blueprint but lacked the patience to follow it.
I hear that excuse all the time why did they fast track the movie with out individual movies and it does not make sense as each new characters origin and motivations are explained maybe not in detail but enough. You learn about Barry Allen his motivations and back story ,Cyborg and his dad and accident and aquaman and why he is a loner. Batman superman and wonder woman have already had introductions in other movie.
People basicly wanted a marvel movie jokes and light heartedness wanted the same tone they hated man of steel , did not care for BVS and this movie got screwed over by a bunch of executives. They should have kept their nose out of it. Now look at them depirate to get people to sign up for HBO Max they had to acknowledge their mistake. They did the same crap to suicide squad.
I am not saying these movies might not be that good. But they stand and fall on the own merit executives wanting to copy another Studios style and format resulted in two botched movies. I hope those are responsible are now gone.I hate how marvel turns ther movies in to tv shows they are to dependent on each other. Zero risk very predictable.
They wasted so much potential I was so looking forward to basicly thr justice league cartoon coming to life a dark side invasion braniac attack. But they just love to reboot that **** out of batman idiots. All the characters they have and they are squandering them. They even cant compete with marvel with their b level characters. The eternals was a crappy knockoff that new gods at dc they hardly have any comic published and yet they are getting a movie and shang shi is getting made . Were is the DC library of movies or do they only care about animation and games. Were is the death in the family and red hood story lines, were is the court of owls they only exist in games and animation *********.
Green lantern captain marvel just at your lunch while you were to busy making a cartoon series and two animation movies which were a thousand times better then the movie why could not just adapt that.
And dont think their cw shows are anything worth while mediocre at best and that **** show on dc universe, Titans, pure garbage thr Judas story it's a classic titans story and their was an animation and this flashy but crappy show is the best they can do. And why they hell is cyborg part of the doom patrol.
Marvel is making is on it's way using b characters and minorities and you cant even get your one lead character , cyborg , a movie you relegate him to a tv show. Black panther shows up in one movie and he gets his own dam big production movie and cyborg is a side character in a tv show and is turned in to comic relief. And dont tell me he was like that in the cartoon the whole cartoon is made in that tone the character in the comics is nothing like that
