Whatever bro. It's a decent site that compiles hundreds of opinions. If that can't be used as some general guage of what people are feeling about a film, then I don't know what is. If they all agree, yeah it's visual of course are awesome, but it's an empty shell otherwise, then it's safe to say...it's PROBABLY true.
But you go ahead and keep telling yourself it's the best movie of 2011 so far.

And of course I want to see it and judge for myself.
ie Rango reviews were pretty good, so I went to see it. Enjoyed, and could see why it got some high marks, even if not the best. But it saved my money from going to see Red Riding Hood, or Battle LA.

Movies are fun escapism, a good way to relax and take a trip into another realm. I love watching movies and suspending disbelief.

Yeah I still want it to be halfway good and somewhat original too, even though I get your point.

It was entertaining, a good reason to go to the theater, the last time I saw a movie in the theater was Tron Legacy, and I can't wait to see the figures that will ensue. Sweet Pea was my favorite.

Devil, I thought 300 was okay. I'd say a 6 out of 10. I will also say that I don't feel as though Synder is evolving as a director in the slightest, which has me extremely concerned for Man of Steel.

I'll keep that in mind when I see it tomorrow. I have no sense of film criticism whatsoever (which is not to say that I don't understand drama). I watch them as a history of events, and I do it for the fuel I get from witnessing a stylized series of actions leading to a single event. I got a lot out of 300. I got nothing out of Watchmen.

The negative reactions to this so far have me more curious than everything that led up to it.

Shouldve known it would suck, Hot Toys scooped up the figure rights so far in advance. Forget Rotten Tomatoes, HT is the most reliable gauge.

HT is a reliable guage? Since when? I dig Wolverines Origin and there are plenty of people out there that hate that film.

Also how do you know its gonna suck? Cause you have a couple folks in here talking about how bad it is? I mean really. There are more folks in here talking about that its a good flick. Not great but worth kicking back and enjoying the visions on screen.

I just got back from watching Sucker Punch…I loved it!

The combination of all three realities made for a great fantasy film and a fun time at the movies!

The visuals were astonishing, the action sequences were fantastic and the underlying story line, although weak, was decent IMO.

One of my friends I went with didn't get the movie at all and my cousin came away with something completely different than I did.

In the end we all enjoyed it for one reason or another.

Everyone at rotten tomatoes can ____ off and suck it.

Pretty much. I thin some folks walked in expecting something way more than what was ever shown. Eh either way I enjoyed my $15 bucks for IMAX and this film wasn't even close to the ____ film that Ang Lee's hulk film.

It's such a strange mentality. If a movie is well loved, they critics are cited as a good source the film is good. If a movie is bad, the critics are told to ____ off...

I think I enjoyed the movie so much was because I didn't go in expecting anything other than visual eye candy.

But the problem with the movie was, it was really abrupt in places, and got super confusing with that jump cut from the hammer. You know the one. I sat there in a WTF state for 20 minutes until I figured it out.

Some how I knew you'd quote me Josh.
I was partly joking but The Spirit comes to mind as well as Clash of the Titans, and not to mention Origins which you did.
Some could make a case for the Watchmen as well or Superman Returns for that matter.
PotC 4 isnt looking promising either...
Can you name a mainstream reviewer that has given the movie a positive review?
I'm hearing uniformly bad feedback, not 100% but nobody agrees on everything.
Hell, some people dont think planes were flown into the towers.

But why? The whole point of the critics is to help the filmmakers....even if they hate it, trash it...the filmmaker should LEARN from his mistakes.

Unless...he's Michael Bay, and doesnt make films for them. And never will.
