I get that you understand the concept of making an irrelevant response. No need to demonstrate that. :D Do you understand that wildly different films can have common comparable elements or do you fly into a tizzy every time multiple genres are up for the same awards at the Oscars every year?

No. I really tend to not care much about the Oscars at all, actually. Other than perhaps some water cooler and online fodder.

Just like I don't care for straw man discussions. Keep the discourse on topic and in context, and we'll talk. Pull irrelevant and unrelated stuff out of thin air, and it's off the rails time.

Also, you do realize you're camping out in a discussion thread about a movie you haven't even seen and probably never will see, right?

Oh brother. When it comes to discussing films, IrishJedi is a world class buffoon. :lecture

:lol I was quoting Destro from the GI Joe movie, by the way. :duff

I know. At least it was the proper JOE movie. :duff

Yeah, uh - let's move on guys.

It's unfortunate that the film was like, #5 at the boxoffice this weekend - I had hoped to see it in imax eventually, but doubtful it will stick around too long.

Please forgive me if this has come up before but what did anyone make up of the boy Sweet Pea sees in the trenches of the WWI sequence appearing again as she gets on the bus at the end of the movie.

That's just the cameo by Eli Snyder, Zack's son who also played young Leonidas in 300 and young Rorschach in WATCHMEN.

I figured it reminded her of her brother(on her vanity mirror there's a black and white photo of Sweet Pea as a little girl, sitting next to a little boy) I'm assuming that was her brother, and the boy in the trenches reminded her of him.

It's interesting you say that, as a film critic I am subbed to on Youtube posted this video today.

He makes a good point - far too many people take box office performance as an indication of quality.

My point was that it wasn't doing well and thus wouldn't be playing in Imax for very long - which is a direct function of box office. A film performs poorly and it's pulled from theaters.

Ah, but your theory fails on the Star Wars corollary - If you say "A New Hope" sucks because Natalie Portman is in it, doesn't mean you can't love Black Swan for the same reason.

Natalie Portman isn't in a New Hope. :monkey3

That is all I got out of the banter back and forth. :lol

So if you say the movie sucks because she's in it, you're an even bigger idiot.

And who knows from these newfangled names? Back in MY day we didn't have subtitles on our Star Wars movies, AND WE LIKED IT!

"A New Hope" or "Phantom Menace" - you knew what I meant...

jeez, kids today...
