It seems like you have a problem with the accuracy of the set, to be completely honest, man.

You might be right.

Like it or not, it was 1985, and Marty was rocking some mom jeans:

You don't have this in-hand yet right? You might be surprised by how tightly these pants taper at the bottom. I was hoping that it was just the wider angle of most of the pics in this thread, but they are really tight at the bottom. Like skinny jeans tight.

The extreme taper, plus the high waist, plus the stone wash really make me think "mom jeans". In a way that the above picture doesn't.

To be clear, I admit this might just be me.

And the elastic on the bottom of the jacket was rather tight, pulling the bottom edges outward.

The way the jacket is hanging in the above pic would be impossible with the 1/6 jacket. The elastic very aggressively pulls the bottom of the jacket back. Again, let me know what you think when you have it in-hand.

The cuffs on this jacket are pretty out of control when rolled.

I found an easy fix. Just use a twist tie.

Great tip. Just tried it & it worked like a charm.

I see what you're getting at, Mag. You're right in that some of the subtle nuances of the 1:1 costume are not translating perfectly into 1/6. But I give the set props for trying, as I think it gives the outfit more character overall

The clothes are expertly tailored to fit the body snugly. The problem is actually the body. It's too tall and thin to be a 1:6 Michael J. Fox. This is actually a great kit to make an Eric Stoltz Marty, lol.

I tried putting the clothes on a shorter DML Neo body, and it was about to look a whole lot better (particularly as the thighs are filled out a bit more), but couldn't get the tapered ends over the Neo's non-removable feet.

Will experiment more tomorrow.

I just want to say more and more i look at martys outfit the more i like it.i think the jeans have a great look and fit.I can understand the mom jeans look but not enough for me to complain about.

Well, not mine (a customers), I have to pick it up today at the post if I get a chance, which I won't since I got into work later this morning. I got a USPS slip yesterday and I was WFH all day.

I heard no door bell.

This is exactly right, especially the thin part I am definitely going to try some different mods. I'll share if they turn out well. Now if I could just get my hands on the damn set

Thanks man! Unfortunatly I am not really into Zkulptors sculpt and really dont see paying that much for a painted head I dont want. I believe it was something around 800 right? If this was just the costume + unpainted head Id be all over it...

No offense to Zkulptor it is a great sculpt just with a very special expression which is simply not the way I wold like to pose my Marty.

3 Quick thoughts/questions:


1) Do the wheels actually roll on the skateboard? I prefer not, so that the above pose works on a hard surface.

2) Did he have a belt?

3) It could be the pose, but the distance between the crotch and the top of the pants looks a little bit long...

I just was looking at the thread and noticed how long Mags has been seeing this as "mom jeans"
