SOTD :rock dont know if this could even come close, but thats ok. theres always room for more zombie movies. especially if they are funny.

I am seeing this Oct 3! I so must see this movie. Oh yes, I so must see it!

Getting amazing reviews makes it even more desirable.

:drool

Looked like it could be really bad based on the commercials, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the critical reaction. I'll definitely check this out at some point.

It'd be shocking if this were as good as Shaun of the Dead (of which it seems Zombieland is compared to in a lot of reviews).

I hope it is better than Shaun of the Dead.

Yes, because if it's better than Shaun of the Dead, I'll probably cry myself to death with laughter.

Shaun of the Dead was dang funny, so if this beats it... big IF, this should be one HEEEECCCKKKK of a funny movie! So yes, I am with Nitro. Here's hoping it's better than SotD.

I'm sure the comparison to Shaun of the Dead is at a horror comedy involving Zombie at minimum.

Synopsis of Zombieland said:
two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss -- but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying' bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

Synopis of Shaun of the Dead said:
A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living.

The two are amazingly different in premise. I don't see how any parallels other than its a comedy with Zombies could be made to Shaun of the Dead, which is one of my favorite movies, this movie looks like a lot of fun and its critical acclaim is just making me want to see it more.

Apparently from early reviews, it places itself more on the comedy part of Comedy-Horror; even moreso than Shaun of the Dead.

You're so smart with your thoughts and your wordiness and yeah, your thoughts. You are so smart.

Seriously bro, I love reading your posts. Lots of thought go into them. Problem with that though, they are being wasted on a toy forum... more importantly, us. :monkey3

As dissimilar as the premises of the two Zomedy (ha!) flicks are, I don't think it's enough at a glance to deter comparisons from the general movie-going audience. judging from trailers, what's Joe six-pack going to think of the two films? Well, ostensibly they both contain zombies being dispatched in a high-larious manner. That's probably as far people will dissect before comparing the films based on brief impressions. verisimilitude notwithstanding.

It hasn't stopped movie critics from holding the two movies under the same light, though.

The wife surprised me by shooting an email asking if I already bought tickets for this. Thought I'd have to talk her into it. I guess I'm going to see it tonight! :rock

Just got back. Loved it. Wasn't up to par with Shaun of the Dead but was a lot of fun. Woody Harrelson was fantastic, the thing that kept pulling me out of the film was the fact that Jesse Eisenberg did a Michael Cera impression the entire film. From his mannerisms, to his posture to even the way he delivered his lines with the stuttering and the nervous twitching. The role of Columbus was literally handwritten for Michael Cera and this guy was really trying his hardest to meet that level. There were even some shots were I could have sworn it was Michael Cera.

Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin were surprisingly charming and Bill Murray's cameo was the best thing about the film.

I'd love a 1:6 Woody Harrelson "Tallahassee" to face off against the Dead without fail.

Everything I've ever seen Eisenberg in he's been like that.

Also just got back and I have to agree. The movie was flat out hilarious. Jesse Eisenberg is totally a wanna-be Cera. If you have seen Adventureland you would think someone casted him by saying "who can do a good Michael Cera impersonation?" But nonetheless he was pretty funny throughout the entire movie. Bill Murray was GD hilarious. I totally called his demise before it happened though.

Good to see Harrelson in a good role since he hasn't done jack lately
