That's the vibe I got as well. Most of the trailer felt similar to Arthur's imagination scenes from the first one.

Which worked in the first one because they were real events, just twisted.

This looks to be doubling down on the “in his head” stuff and I don’t think it’s for the best.

But we’ll see, I’ll probably wait until this hits streaming and see what the general consensus is.

I didn't care much for the first movie and this one just looks straight up bad.

First was one of the most overrated movies of the last decade.

The apartment murder was good, the talk show murder was good, and of course him dancing on the stairs was good. The rest of the movie is an absolute snooze. I'll watch the youtube clips if I ever wanna revisit it.

This one looks like more of the same, just with more money wasted on the budget.

You’re kidding right? This is one of the best cut trailers we’ve received from WB in a LONG time.

Whether the film turns out awesome or trash you have to admit that it’s a hell of a trailer.

Says the first film is “overrated” and proceeds to name three things he likes about it.

There's 20 minutes of good footage there, but the rest of the movie sucks. It doesn't deserve the praise it got.

Seems to be a real lack of interest for this movie on this forum. Threads pretty quiet right after a trailer dropped. Oof.

You can still like something or elements of it and think it’s overrated.

A lot of it is of course going to be dream sequences, that was a given since this was declared a ‘musical’ but I think a large chunk of it is real and that they stage or are successful in a breakout from Arkham/prison.

Wholly unnecessary but expected due tot he steamroller success of the first one.

I wonder if they go the whole TDKR route and they had a whole audience/the court. Seems he certainly w are the white suit at some point.

Interested to see how it plays out.

Well, to be fair, this is a "toys" forum, and the most discussion always revolves around genre movies that are oriented towards action and entertainment. "Joker" is a bit of an anomaly, since it is a genre movie, but doesn't have much to offer collectibles-wise, other than Arthur (and now Harley).

lol for a toy forum there is always so much fighting lol. Some of it is hilarious tbh. You’d think we would be a peaceful website but ever since I joined there has been so many hilarious arguments. Mostly Star Wars stuff

a lot of us didn’t think it needed a sequel and thought the first movie stood on its own as a one off else world thing. Now with a second one on the way I just hope it doesn’t tarnish the reputation of the first film and not live up to the brilliance of the first cause I loved the first one but this movie has me skeptical as all hell.

The first one ended perfectly and everything was left to interpretation on whether or not it was all in his head or if the part in the asylum was in the future. Now we are seeing that it probably wasn’t all in his head and the asylum takes place right after the events of the riot.

My head cannon theory was when he was in the asylum and said “I was thinking of a joke” and it cute to young Bruce Wayne. It was him finding out that he created Batman and he was remembering how it may have happened but now that’s gone lol

No, they are just going to sing the lines that need to be sung because just saying the words isn't enough to convey emotion. In musicals they just sing stuff to sing stuff.
