Not too horribly surprising, but disappointing nonetheless. Creatures look pretty good, though.

MacReady has landed but have to wait a few days.....May wait longer.
Just arrived today. Took 3 days from China to U.K.
First impressions.
Sculpts are very good, the best I’ve seen outside Kjun’s epic release. Would like to see one with a top quality repaint.
Boots, gloves and flame thrower all pretty good.
Dog creature and Norris head very well done.
Biggest let down are the flight suit and jacket. Already changed the flight suit on mine.
All in all Mondo have done a great job for the price. Art box is really well done as well.

I wonder if they thought that putting a pop up feature into their crappy old slip cased box it would distract you from the contents?
Over the past few days my arrivals have gone from the sublime (Facepool's USMC Sledge Hammer) to the ridiculous (Mondo's MacReady).
The only gloved hands provided are open palms that can't hold anything.
That goes along with a lot of the parts being very simplistic and toylike.
The spider Thing is better than the dog Thing, the latter being a largely untextured lump. But the paintwork on most things has that vintage Sideshow quality.
As a whole the figure is a like a throwback to a time I thought all decent companies had moved on from.

Do you reckon there's any potential here with a body swap and the DID jacket?
The biggest issue with this for me so far is the hair - thick, noodle looking hair. The Russell likeness is really good to my eye and I think it'd look great with a rooted hair job, but the stock sculpt looks like Macready's got a headful of spaghetti.

Based on pics it turned out how folk expected, so not a disappointment. We knew jacket would be bad and suspected body might be sub par, so switch to DID jacket and HT style body and voila! Much improved.
The headsculpt hair might be a bit rough but the face turned out better than expected both sculpt and paint. Accessories look great.
For the price it is a little bit sub par but given that this is prob the only 1:6 Macready we will ever get it us more than acceptable and a great basis for improved custom. (We already know DID jacket is suitable replacement)
Another point people miss is that this is an american company fairly new to realistic fabric clothed 1:6 figure game. Early HT figures weren't amazing by todays standards and Sideshow stuff from the early years look hilarious compared to current offerings. This brand may improve over time and catch up with competitors. Best offer them constructive criticism for them to improve later products while supporting them.

A body swap would definitely help - I don't have a spare necked body at the moment so am trying to make do with Mondo's.
The DID jacket is better - virtually anything would be better (!) - but it wasn't designed for such a bulky, awkward figure, so it doesn't fit too well.
I swapped out the waist grabber for a crotch grabber, as it wasn't functioning well with the figure, which was no surprise considering the rest of it.
The hands are stiff, so you have to fight them whenever you want him to hold anything.
Most things are either simplified, or made to resemble a toy rather than higher end 1/6.
His face seems too wide to me. Comparing it to other sculpts he looks bloated, as though the face was expanded to fill the hair mould.
The set is giving me some strange associations.
The paintwork and each hand having a wrist peg is like Sideshow; the dog Thing is like the old McFarlane Thing; the jacket is like the one that came with a Toy Biz (?) 5" Lara Croft; the flamethrower cannisters feel just like the vintage hard plastic 1960s/1970s Action Man/GI Joe version.
The Norris head is the best thing in the box, and actually looks better painted in hand than under the flash:
Reminds me of a TV show growing up, Take Your Pick with Michael Miles where you had to decide to open the box or not.

First impression on opening the shipper was, oh an other crappy Sideshow style box.
First impression on opening the art box was, it looks like a Sideshow figure from 20 years ago.
So far it's even worse than I feared. The jacket is a joke. An utter disgrace.
The figure doesn't seem to be able to put his arms by his sides, so looks like an old He-Man toy.

...and my preorder list has reduced by one. Lost an NRD but so be it. Thanks for the pics and opinions everyone.

"Kill it with fire!" That's an apt gif for this figure.
I'm trying to find some love for this thing, but it's not easy.
I don't even like the sculpts that much. They both have gormless expressions, like he's day dreaming or wondering whether he left the oven on.
The DID jacket isn't working for me, even left undone to account for his bulk...
I never get rid of anything any more so I'll keep it.
Removing the jacket is an improvement.
But it's relative to how bad he looked with it on.
He looks better from a further away...
But there's no hiding the unnaturalness of the body. I think his arms are a bit short, or it's that he hasn't the ability to straighten them by his sides.
Might be able to rescue this body by filing the sides, and seeing what's keeping his legs apart.

I got a Sideshow email showing still up for order and I passed. I thought the quality looked bad in the proto pics though seeing the actual product it's awful, like GI Joe toy quality. Only redeemable thing is the spider creature looks pretty good. Head sculpt looked good in proto pics, though production lacks any detail.
So far they make Star Ace look good! I disagree that the terrible quality is down to being their second figure and lacking the experience in producing figures. Inart's Joker was their first figure and they exceeded Hot Toys. Also look at the care and attention JazzInc are putting into their Catwoman figure, no experience in figures prior to that. Mondo just don't have the talent to quality control and produce good figures.

It's the weirdest looking body I've ever seen. They even painted it to accentuate the muscles.
The neck, which was apparent when trying to pose him, is angled forwards like one of the bootleg brands of TTM19 style muscle body:
