It's a nice sculpt, but I see 0% Keaton in it. And I honestly prefer the HT 2.0.
Par for the course with most custom stuff tbhFor $300, this needs to be more accurate. I feel the lips are a teeny bit too small, and the likeness is there but it’s still off somehow. Maybe it’s too stoic, he needs to put in an expression. Cowl looks great, tho. This head is more expensive than a brand new Hot Toys figure with all the accessories. Lmao
Honestly I would snag the 2.0 if you don't already have an 89 figure. DX09 is better to me than the 2.0, but it's better to get something that's brand new over something 10+ years old especially since they will cost you around the same.was offered a DX09 for 170 bucks, but the ankle is damaged and it comes without accessories. should I get it?
He's still actively making revisions I think. Pass him along anything that may help with likeness in your eyes. The mouth plate (most important part imo) is even worse than the 2.0. I already spent $300 on an inaccurate Keaton in this lifetime. Easy pass.
i let him know and also the gloss on the bat symbolTell him to make the eye cuts thicker, they should touch the face. Also, lips need to be closer to the nose of the cowl, too far down for Keaton.

I am also increasingly thinking that adding texture to the cowl and suit was a purposeful artistic decision to make it more visually interesting. Notice how the light reflects off the Hot Toys cowl versus the Unreal version. By adding surface texture, even if it's not 100% screen accurate, it makes for a more visually interesting figure. When it looks too flat, like the Unreal version, it tends to look like a toy.
Literally the LAST issue on the menu imo.
lips can be a little biggerLiterally the LAST issue on the menu imo.
I thought we were going for Keaton likeness first.. No. That's obviously not the main concern here.
