Hot Toys 1992 Batman Returns 2.0

Weirdly the longer I hesitate on pre-ordering this the more I think I will skip it, I really like the sculpt and base and think the glider wings could turn out pretty cool... but do I need it?

That’s most likely what’ll happen. I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

I think I prefer the 1.0 cowl this time. I'll likely try to pick that up. It's not that the 2.0 is bad, but the angles and edges of it just aren't as refined to my eye. Hatch doesn't bother me.

There's also a sheen to the 1.0 cowl that I really Iike which isn't there on the new one.

The glider wings feel like one of those cool accessories in principal but an absolute waste of time given the thick rubber suit. It'll struggle to hold that pose, look terrible all bunched up and probably do damage long term.

Man, I hope that Batman and Robin go up for preorder soon.

Also - outside of the proto pics has HT released a single image of the Returns 2.0 glider where the wings are taut/fully extended?

I don't know, but those wings look really 4th party. I think this is another WB Batman HT threw together to make some buck in case they lose the license next year.

The only thing I want from BR Batman 2.0 is that Shrek Cat head base... for JazzInc Catwoman.

Yeah I doubt I'll use the glider - mainly because it doesn't look like they're redeveloping a Batman body and suit that can safely take on that pose.

I like the head sculpt + ripped cowl and I like the display base with the Shreck logo.... but I'm going off the glider wings the more I see them, unless there is some more real-light pics of the wings fully taut and extended that actually make them look good... then they are no longer a draw and seem like something that only looks good in the [not always faithful to reality] proto sales pics.
The sculpt/cowl + the base + the wings were enough for me to consider getting this 2.0 despite my being really really happy with the 1.0 Returns figure, but now I honestly think there just isnt enough here to properly tempt me into double-dipping.
I think if you dont have a Keaton Batman then this is the best choice no doubt given how shoddy the 89' 2.0 has turned out, and I think if you are just looking for a Returns Keaton to go with your 89 figure then again this is the one to get as there is nothing in the Returns 1.0 that this figure doesn't have + more, but if you have the Returns 1.0...... I'm not sure.

Pretty sure all of us who preordered this Returns Batman would either leave the wings in the box or sell it.

I only got this for the nice little diorama and the unmasked Wayne head. Also the whole figure cuz I never had 1.0 BR.
