I'll be combining aspects from both - particularly the metal guns and gloved hands from the InArt. I'll just need to figure out a way to make the InArt hands work with the HT wrist pegs. Or just buy the WonderWorld full set of hands 🤔 Might also use the InArt pants and suspenders depending on how they fit on the HT body.
 
The IA was all over the place some looked great others decent and then others downright "wtf happened" bad. Sure posing, lighting, and photo skills also played a factor but still too many variations. I was never interested.

Since I'm struggling to pay $400 for the sculpted because I don't want to give them any ideas -I am obviously not as hardcore as others when it comes to this character. Been seeing customs since I got here in 2010 so kind of burnt out tbh.

Still, I would like a upgrade to DX11 and sculpted fits the bill.
 
So InArt must be 11.5 inches tall then. Strange no one mentioned that.


I really like the darker grape color of the HT coat. I wonder if it would be too big for InArt Joker?

I'd love to get the head, shoes and coat in hand just to see...
Just checked my InArt. He's standing a bit wide and has his head tilted down, but he's close to 30 cm, so 12 inches. Standing straight he's probably a few mm above 30 cm.

But if Heath was 1.85 m (according to Google), with shoes around 1.86, that should make him 31 cm at 1/6 scale - a tad under 12.5 inches. So the HT seems to be more accurate.

I like the teeth... but I probably would never use the eyes more than once as they seem difficult to get to. I haven't budged the InArt in all this time.

For the cost of this head on the secondary market, I could fund the better part of a professional repaint of my InArt sculpt. But then, I've seen better heads than both HT or InArt out there now...

Thus, I continue my futile quest for a custom Ledger sculpt... somewhere, out there.

At this point, I think pending scale I'd just be after the HT coat.
I'm facing the same dilemma. The HT sculpt looks better to me - I love that sculpt. It shows emotion, which makes him more life-like to me. But I won't go back to a sculpted hair Joker, so it would have to be Artisan (too expensive for what it is) or custom rooted.

I do still like my InArt, especially after restyling the hair, and I still have plans to repaint him and thin out the hair a bit. But there are better (custom) sculpts out there...

I think I have to accept the fact that I won't be updating my Ledger Joker every year. I have too many other things on my plate right now, and there will always be a better Joker sculpt coming along.

Maybe its Justin's angle/camera but HT looks quite large against the InArt... especially if InArt is already at the correct height.

HT Joker looked large to me against Batman as well in his review.

Must be the angle b/c he put DX19 Batman next to him and they looked fine together. If I remember correctly, InArt's Joker looked fine next to the DX19 as well.
 
I’ll definitely leave the conversation at some point, but it’s an interesting one where there’s always something to be said.

Me personally, I think I’ll stick with INART. Does the job just fine for me and it looks unreal in person. Quality and properly scaled down clothing and in many ways, it’s more screen-accurate, imo. I simply prefer how INART makes figures. Hot Toys tend to lean with a toy-ish feeling with blocky proportions, and similiar paint jobs given to all characters regardless of any unique skin texture. The outfit on Hot Toys is still over scaled and the details (stitching, buttons, etc) are big, INART’s isn’t. INART’s pants have a full break which is accurate, Hot Toys has almost has little to no break. Stuff like this may seem minute to most, but I revel in those details. Hot Toys’s expression looks cool, but sometimes “cool” isn’t accurate.

INART’s has cons, not going to deny that, but Hot Toys has more of them, imo.

I also have mine posed in what I have always intended to do, based on the “Hit me!” scene combined with movie stills where his head is tilted down with his eyes looking up, and INART’s nails it on that front with the custom hunched over body and vibe. If I can mod my hair to where it looks more thinned out and natural, there’s no question it’s the best mass produced 1/6 version of this character, IMO.

I'm not seeing a big enough upgrade between the rooted and sculpted to warrant what the secondary is asking that's insane. In fact, I was struggling at MSRP, I had the Artisan in my cart and passed.

Also, I find it odd that those that are willing to pay big money for any of these figures to put any merit in Justin's reviews. These things look terrible under torch box lighting. I could go grab my old BR Joker out of the basement and make it look more appealing to those out of the loop than what Justin puts out there. It must be like a Creed or Nickelback thing - just something I will never understand.

That is why I am impatiently waiting on Dean's review:impatient:

It does look a little off. Between the two actors I believe Heath was the taller one by an inch or two. His shoulders were up kinda high in TDK. It’s good enough for me personally. Glad I went with the sculpted version. The extra cost of the artisan still isn’t worth it for me, even though HT definitely improved the hair.
 
Heath was 6’1, Bale 6’0.

The new armory Bale TDK and TDKR bat suits have likely been adjusted with new proportions as well since they aren’t reusing the DX19 suit. The stature was the most intriguing part about this Artisan release to me, they made a big deal about it being a new body faithful to Ledger’s proportions and in their prototype video, the stature does look promising.

Heath was pretty skinny for his height, throughout the film his suit appeared to vary in how it sat on him, some scenes it appears a bit sloppy and ill-tailored, yet in others it’s sharp and sleek, with the coat and pants properly hugging his frame.
 
InArt did a great job, and there are things they've still done better -- the rooting, the hands -- but I look at it now and all I see is a first figure; they've already improved leaps and bounds with Gandalf, Aragorn, and the rest to where their Joker doesn't even really meet InArt standards anymore. Hot Toys looks like the more modern figure, as it should. The hobby is better when each release pushes things further.
 
Only gripe i'm possibly seeing is possibly down the line foot pegs getting stuck or broken in base or feet. From over posing or just weak plastic over time or etc... May just use reg ole stand or find a cool differnt dio street base. Just dont trust cheap plastic. Also prob never use grenade rig feel like may deform tailoring tight fit look. Just kitbash another 4 grenades pose im thinking. I doubt ill use the tongue to make out w harley haha...So did hot toys knock in arts teeth out?!?! Haha idk jk cant wait to get this one in the collection.

Yes, you can easily pick on the wonky eyes... but there rest is there.


But I agree, the HT has the more "terrorizing" expression.
In fairness, if the eyes don’t look right, it’s a bit of a dealbreaker. That’s kinda the most important part of a headsculpt to me. Windows to the soul and all.
