Man, I’m all for constructive criticism, but this place is where joy goes to pay a man in a latex jumpsuit $10,000 to pull out a tarp and a lead pipe and beat it nearly to death. I’m sorry, but people need to remember we’re talking about Hot Toys, here. Perfection it ain’t, but, as someone who’s never dabbled in the customs realm, I don’t really see the use in comparing it to sculpts that cost 2-3 times what the full Artisan figure would. In my mind, I’m comparing it to the MMS 68, the MMS 79, the DX 01, the DX 11, the QS 010 and, the InArt two-pack and, in that respect? I’m happy as a ******* clam.
I want to further specify that I am 100% down for all the constructive criticism in the world during the prototype stage to make for the best final product possible. I just don’t personally see the use in hyperfixating on a dot or his having 15% too much hair when it’s actually a decent final product and runs circles around previous efforts. Like, I kind of see this **** in the same way as people look at 8K TVs. At some point, we’re talking about the law of diminishing returns and I don’t necessarily see the point. Barring using AI to recreate all the angles of a specific photo of Ledger, 3D printing all that **** with a road map of exactly where to individually punch each thinning strand of hair and then kidnapping Lindy Hemming and forcing her to oversee a sweatshop in China to make the perfect 1/6th Joker suit, I’m not really sure where we go from here.
Like, there’s always going to be room for improvement, but at which point does it just become an even bigger waste of money?
