I need someone to try Hot Toys coat on the Inart body.
This is what I’d like to see as well. I’ve got gripes with the oversized buttons and other details but overall, it steers more accurate than INART’s coat. I never felt INART’s was accurate. Looks good, but not really accurate.

I might have to buy a Hot Toys coat loose.

Well I’d say the eyes are sculpted too close together and too sunk in. You even called them wonky yourself. If you have a trick to move them further apart, please share. Or were you just being sarcastic? Hard to tell online.

I agree. Good thing they're moveable

I literally took 30+ screenshots of this scene for customs stuff, I know it's accurate...
The issues are that it's the not right color (should be the same as his lipstick), misplaced and it looks ugly on the sculpt.

Just like parts of the black around his eyes not dripping accurately, I've decided that things like this is why I will draw a ritual circle in blood and burn all my figures in the garden this weekend. Enough is enough.

I never said it was an accuracy problem, I didn't even bring that word up dominishin did... I'm just saying it looks bad on the video.

Man, I’m all for constructive criticism, but this place is where joy goes to pay a man in a latex jumpsuit $10,000 to pull out a tarp and a lead pipe and beat it nearly to death. I’m sorry, but people need to remember we’re talking about Hot Toys, here. Perfection it ain’t, but, as someone who’s never dabbled in the customs realm, I don’t really see the use in comparing it to sculpts that cost 2-3 times what the full Artisan figure would. In my mind, I’m comparing it to the MMS 68, the MMS 79, the DX 01, the DX 11, the QS 010 and, the InArt two-pack and, in that respect? I’m happy as a ******* clam.:lol

I want to further specify that I am 100% down for all the constructive criticism in the world during the prototype stage to make for the best final product possible. I just don’t personally see the use in hyperfixating on a dot or his having 15% too much hair when it’s actually a decent final product and runs circles around previous efforts. Like, I kind of see this **** in the same way as people look at 8K TVs. At some point, we’re talking about the law of diminishing returns and I don’t necessarily see the point. Barring using AI to recreate all the angles of a specific photo of Ledger, 3D printing all that **** with a road map of exactly where to individually punch each thinning strand of hair and then kidnapping Lindy Hemming and forcing her to oversee a sweatshop in China to make the perfect 1/6th Joker suit, I’m not really sure where we go from here.

Like, there’s always going to be room for improvement, but at which point does it just become an even bigger waste of money?

No, not being sarcastic at all. You know me better than that, I hope. I called them wonky because of the placement of the irises. The sculpting isn't perfect, no... neither sculpt is in various places. Of course its up to the user which inaccuracies you're willing to let go versus the ones you're not.

That said, the eyes are the same distance apart on the InArt as they are on the HT, but there is something odd. Maybe the bags under the eyes. Not sure.

If it weren’t for all the accuracy police we wouldn’t be seeing HT / inart / custom makers and others competing to get it better and better over the last 16 yrs.

So if you’re happy with it, that’s great.

Some of us will never be fully satisfied and will keep tinkering and that’s what drives the overall realism on these things forward, to the benefit of all, ultimately

I don't know if it's the really the case or not but I figure you're talking about me so I'll just answer quickly. (At least for the dot you do)

Personally I did not compare the DX32/DX33's headsculpt to any custom made heads, all I did was mentionning taking pictures of the mob scene for some custom stuff.
You probably saw the forbidden word and thought "Oh another one of those damn elitist custom owners !" and I'm really not... Honestly I love to see everyone enjoy anything they get.

There's a bit of a taboo thing around custom stuff here and on the Inart thread, we had to create a new one even tho with custom talk and ultimately talk about ways to upgrade our figures (Inart in that case) we made the actual thread active again... To me both worlds can be one but some people see it the wrong way unfortunatly.

And yes I agree there's no point in comparing the Hot Toys and a custom sculpt to prove that Hot Toys is worst or not perfect, that's pointless.
The only one you could compare it to is the original sculpt by Lu1yo that they used as a base to make this one.

And for the dot it's simply a QC issue I think and I pointed it out like everyone would on this forum. (I learned that it's not the same on all the copies like that)
Again, I did not mention accuracy nor did I mention customs being better or tried comparing them, but some of you act like I did which is quite surprising to me.

The InArt lower lids are very pronounced and puffy looking compared to Heath's (or HT's for that matter) Plus the eyeballs themselves appear very cartoonish to me for reasons I can't put my fingers on. Like the iris and pupils are too black and whites too white? I mean I own it myself, so I'm not just going off pics. When I see it on the shelf, it almost looks like an animated version of the character, more than a representation of a live action Ledger/Joker.

Yeah, I can see that. The irises do look black. And I did mention the 'bags' (lower lids) throwing off the likeness perhaps.

In that picture and most comps I've seen, HT looks more real to me, I not questioning that. Just the sculpt in relation to Heath. I had forgotten how bulbous Heath's nose was -- that was something that bothered me on the InArt, but then I saw that it was actually more correct than the slender nose on the HT. So it got me looking at Heath's features again. Like, neither have the down-turned tear duct shape correct. Etc...

Thank god they updated their eyes on the next figures, it's probably one of the worst part of this release. If they were to release it again now it would be much better I reckon.

But they’re not though. It’s just that there’s more of the “Raccoon eyes paint” closer together on the bridge of the nose, which creates a false illusion that they’re sculpted closer together.

Another issue people have are the pupils themselves being too close together or misaligned but that can easily be remedied.

Yes, they addressed that issue of the pronounced eye lids. Woo hoo, INART fixed them with each subsequent release. Hot Toys had the same problems back in the day too with their ancient figures with rolling eyes.

Even if it leans more “caricature” like (it isn’t imo), the likeness is still stronger to Ledger. Hot Toys’s DXAE doesn’t resemble the actor as the character, which a good group of people also agree with.

I see you have never traversed the depths of the Darth Vader helmet and suit discussion threads.
This is way more extensive than Darth Vader imo, it’s crazy lol. Everyone has an opinion on Ledger Joker whereas only a smaller minority know the minutiae of Vader
