Obviously not scientific but how many of you are buying TUC SULU ? Or have second thoughts with the head ? This might very well be the first TOS I’m passing. Not feeling it . What about you?
I'm buying him because it'll be the only Maroon Sulu there is.

I bought it to put TMP Kirk's head on it. I'm tired of Nanjin jerking us around on TWOK figures. I know it's not an Admiral, but close enough.

TWOK Kirk will end up having 3 looks : Maroon jacket, Expedition jacket and the waistcoat. I might have to buy 3.
Bones is similar : Maroon jacket, Expedition jacket and the medical tunic.

I have purchased every TOS release but sadly this one just seems off and might be the first TOS I pass . The current shown head seems like Sulu had a stroke after taking over command

No, and there's been no indications it will come with the waistcoat. He wears it for a good amount of time in the movie though, so it would make sense to include it.

The temptation ENTIRELY lies with the Monster Maroon representation, if I'm honest with myself.
But, I'm getting THAT already with Saavik, Kirk, Spock, & Valeris...Perhaps Uhura- she's one of the few that looked different each film. TSFS was her best look & moment with "Mr. Adventure" so that would be my preference.
Sulu's best moment was "Mirror, Mirror", and that's sufficient representation in the collection for that character-Maybe TOS Sulu - it looked Excellent in Vegas & that Helm would be cool. But that means getting Chekov. Chekov is Neelix-level importance to me.
Maybe Mirror Sulu at the Helm, Mirror Spock in the Captain's chair & (hopefully) Mirror Uhura distracting Sulu would be a cool display! Then I can avoid purchasing Chekov!
TOS is my all-time favorite show. TUC is my favorite of the 6 films. But, no, I'm not "feeling" Sulu either, & although I'm a "completist" in my hobbies, these are too expensive, space is too limited and there's too many figures ahead to order TUC Sulu. Sometimes Exo-6 does our wallets a favor with these questioable solicitation pics!
