I'm sure it's just lightweight hollow plastic that barely weighs a thing, so will probably still feel a bit cheap in that way.

The same was being said prior to the release of the 1/2 scale Yoda, and boy was that wrong.

This fits totally with the standard collectible cycle.

1). People pre-order based on an extra-ordinary prototype.
2). First non-official production pics look terrible in comparison (zoomed in, at weird angles, taken with phone camera, bad lighting etc)
3). First in hand video/pics people agree it's not too bad
4). People actually get in hand and all is good

Well that's how it normally goes.

Well I had to edit this post lol. Looked at some screen shots of him and these eyes are more in line with the show puppets.

It?s just a bad photo. Compare it to photo #12 on the Sideshow page. It?s pretty much identical apart from the tailoring and the horrible lighting in the production photos.

Are you joking? Cant you see that the neck looks longer just because it?s not covered in clothes as in official pictures?

Bad futzing, the downfall of many a padawan collector......

But in the production photos, it looks as if the cloak only has a single outer layer - they took the worst angle to take a photo too, instead of the cute child we saw in the original pictures, it almost looks like a watered gremlin

100% is the same sculpt. So the neck issue is definitely a matter of cloth futzing.

Excited to carry this little guy around once I finish my Mando costume build. Finished all of my soft parts. My armor and Anovos helmet are currently being repainted with Alumaluster. But I dropped it all together in Photoshop to get a sense of what it'll look like once everything is combined.

That'll be awesome! Wouldn't the Hot Toys Life Size be an easier "carry around". I didn't order the HT because I'm fine with the statue aspect of the Sideshow.

It probably would be easier to carry the HT version around. But I'm a stickler for likenesses, and I think HT missed the mark. At least from what we've seen so far. The SSC version looks much more accurate.

Plus I may mod my statues so that I can pose him

No disagreement and the other reason I went with the SSC version. I was a bit miffed at the ear seam on the HT as well... Looking forward to seeing the build progress. Are you active on The Dented Helmet? I'm starting a ROTJ Fett build and have been scouring that forum for tips...

Agreed! That seam is terrible.

I love ROTJ Boba. That's actually a build I was hoping to do down the line.
