Re: 1:18 - 1:12 Die-cast Cars - **COLLECTORS CLUB**

Thanks. I've always loved Ferrari as well more so F1 from the Schumacher days.

https://www.amalgamcollection.com/en/

Sadly the prices may remain high as that nose cone I had bought 2 years ago. Saying that Amalgam models themselves are pricy.

Some old 1/18 photos.

Very nice. I am a big time Schumi fan. And have few of the F1 models by hot wheels. Not very good detailing though. But these look pretty cool so maybe later I will think of making a collection of BBR F1. :)

But even before I do that I want to make a collection of 1:8, 1:5 and 1:4 amalgam models. They are simply the best and the detailing is awesome. Hopefully, I will manage to collect most of their models. :)

Re: 1:18 - 1:12 Die-cast Cars - **COLLECTORS CLUB**

Hey, good to finally see some Diecast car collectors on here. I collect only 1/12 and 1/8 models. Have been for years now...I started off with 1/18. But once I got my first 1/12 model, their was no turning back and I sold off all my 1/18's. I've only taken a picture of a handful of my car collection. Sorry I cant post pictures of all of them...I'll try to take more pictures later on. Pictures below are of my:

1/12 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren by CMC
1/12 Porsche Carrera GT by Tamiya

1/12 Ferrari F-40 by Tamiya
1/12 Ferrari F-50 by Tamiya

Very nice. Awaiting more pics soon. In the meanwhile could you tell me where do you buy the display cases for all your models? Thanks

The display case for the Lambos I built myself, which took me about 5 months in my spare time. Its actually an Ikea lack shelving unit flipped sideways and wall mounted. Even the lights I got from Ikea and used 2 rows per case. I cut the centre columbs out and desinged a hydrolic hinge system to fit inside that opens the glass (its heavy). At the bottom of the case on both sides their are 2 hidden michanical locks that snap shut once the glass is down. The case itself is wrapped in black leather and the interior is covered in suede. The background inside each case is triangular acoustical foam which add a nice ambiance to the displays once lit up. This case unfortunately can only be appreciated at its best in a dark room with the lights on showcasing each car. Something like the real car in a dealership window at night. As the picture of the roadster below shows. Sorry about the quality of the pics...took them with my cell phone.
The case my 1/8 Reventon is in came with the car when I bought it. Actually, most of Amalgams models come attached to a carbon fiber base with acrylic top like mine.

Wow that looks pretty tedious job but very innovative. But good to know that the Amalgam models come along with the case. I am less worried now as when I am ready to buy I will not have to think or search for the display case. :)

Re: 1:18 - 1:12 Die-cast Cars - **COLLECTORS CLUB**

The amalgam cases are really well built. The edges of the acrylic are seamless with "0" air bubbles in the joints like most acrylic tops. The sturdiness of the cases is a big plus as the models themselves weigh upwards of 60lbs+.

That is even better and if you are paying $4000+ for each model you expect quality as well. And from your review I can be assured of satisfaction once I invest in their models.

Re: 1:18 - 1:12 Die-cast Cars - **COLLECTORS CLUB**

That Reventon is freakin' hot. I'm tempted to try and track one down. It's not in the $1000s is it!?

EDIT: Nevermind... it looks like it's in the multiple thousands. :(

:lol:lol It is irresistible but the price tag is a killer of feelings about this or any amalgam model :)
