Nevermind, just saw Sideshow's website. That is a lot of money...but I did expect around 2 grand for this piece. Normally I wouldn't even think of paying that price for ANY collectable...but I'd probably make an exception for this. I think that would be my absolute limit though.

Wouldn't this be cheaper than OP though? As much as I HATE the Bayformers, that thing has way more detail than just a guy in a coat. It's actually insane as to how great and perfect they made that thing.

The cost of TDK license, Heath's likeness, the scale, add in the people working on this thing and having perfectly tailored clothing made up of multiple layers, and I can see the cost being high. Plus, they could do it simply because it's Heath Ledger Joker and they know people will pay for it if the quality is up there.

Exactly, this is 1/2 scale, so that's about 36".
If you want an idea how big this is,
I just measured from the very bottom of the shelf of a detolf, and 36" goes about 5" above the middle of the detolf.
Seriously, if you have a detolf, look at it, go 5" above the middle, and that's how high his head is.

That leaves you with just one shelf above it. Lol.

Yeah I saw that pic and it doesn't look all that good but we are still not seeing the full picture so hard to say if the likeness is off. The mouth area where the lips are look strange there though.

Yeh that photo was posted a while back. Still looks like Adams work as I said at the start and still looks stupidly spot on.

From the Statueforum Prime 1 section there is a rep answering questions.

Joker sculpt is done by talented Adam Gu
Tailoring by Kato.
Price Range still TBA. We hope to make it affordable for everybody.
Joker will be fully reveal at SDCC hopefully.

Batman Arkham Knight is 1:3
Batman The Dark Knight is 1:2

Our license cover Dark knight trilogy.
We are planning for more characters in the future.

This is really a stupid decision making this 1/2 scale.
It should have been 1/4.
Even though retail for ht and Eb 1/4 is under $500, many people would still shell out $1k for an Adam and kato 1/4 scale.
But for 1/2 scale which takes up 3 shelves on a detolf, and for at least $2k, they've priced out a lot of collectors.
Even if the price is somehow the same as sideshow's legendary scale which is $2k (which Im certain this will still be higher), that is too much for 1 figure for most people.
And with 1/4, many people can pair it with their ht or Eb batman.

Well that's true, IMO he is the only one that can nail Ledger's likeness, others sculptors have managed to produce some resemblance in their sculpts but when you look at his sculpts you know right away that it is Ledger.

SSC probably has the 1/4 likeness rights for statues, and I bet HT does have the likeness rights for 1/4 figures. They are not doing anything with it, but hopefully one day they might.

This would be my definitive Joker at 1/4. At 1/2 I"ll have to see how much this is going to cost. Hopefully the fact that it's going to be somewhat mass produced will bring the price point down from Adam and Kato's usual (much deserved) prices.

For all we know Prime 1 may have wanted to produce this a a 1/4 scale piece but could not due to licensing issues.

enterbay already did 1/4 scale joker and i think its not very good plan making 1/4 joker the market need something new, and i agree prime 1 studio its not really for all collectors. the number production will be very limited. the new optimus prime only produce for 500, they now their market, they will not go to market 1/4 or 1/6, thats making big diffrence between prime 1 and others collectible company. im only collect 1/6 at the moment, but im so in for this even for 2K price. it will be grail of your collection for the rest of your life.

The EB is a figure which most statue collectors don't want, so for a lot of us there is no 1/4 Ledger joker out there yet.
