At the end of the day, that's what HT relies on and why I don't think any of this is gonna hurt HT in terms of the perception of their being a "bully."

But who's the bully in this case? For this engagement, EB fired the first shots with first Terminator and then Nolan's Batman licenses, licenses HT already has or is borrowing from SSC. It would be bullying if HT didn't have the licenses and chased them down. But they do, so they're just saying, "Yeah? Game on!" and rising to EB's challenge.

It's nothing personal, it's just business. We do have freedom of choice...

It is a bit silly really, it's just a company, as long as the product is great and makes you happy who cares? But I think it just stems from us wanting Enterbay to do well.

All this talk of the 1:4 annoucement is overshadowing what is great news in the fact they are doing a Dark Knight Rises 1:6 line. That I have no problem with!

I guess that doesn't really feel like news. I mean, did anyone doubt that would happen?

I have no idea how far back this all goes or have any insight into the behind-the-scenes ins-and-outs, but. . .I don't know that this is a single case that people are referencing when they think of HT as a bully.

1) Enterbay specializes in googly eyes and Bruce Lee, HT responds by co-opting googly eye process (yes, it isn't new, but it wasn't used recently for popular high-end items), obtains Bruce Lee license, and takes away Enterbay's Bruce Lee sculptor.

2) Enterbay engages in a cooperative relationship with Medicom to (I guess) highlight both companies strengths (don't ask me what Medicom's strengths are apart from having good licenses) with an initial focus on Star Wars. HT responds by building a partnership with Sideshow to create awesome Star Wars figures.

3) this

I'm just a casual observer, I own 0 Enterbay products, and I think all is fair here. But, I think one could certainly perceive HT's behavior as bullying. Bullying in order to force one's competition out of the business is bullying nonetheless. Seems to me that Enterbay was trying to do something different with the 1/4 scalers so that they wouldn't be competing directly with HT, but HT decided they weren't gonna get off so easily :lol

That's a lot of reading, would have read it with actual bullet points. Pfft.

edit: I wasted my 11,000th post for this? :lol

This goes back further than that with Prison Break, Godfather, etc., but in the end, it's competition. The only reason this is an issue is because like the Medicommies, EB fans are being overly defensive. While they won't admit it, in most cases when push has come to shove, HT has produced a better end product for considerably less money. But I still argue that if EB's products had been better, this really wouldn't even be an issue.

On a side note, if Kim had been happy at EB, he never would've left to work for HT. So that's on EB.

I don't think it's strange that HT announces things right after enterbay lately,i don't care though, better competition...Better product.
But what does bother me with this announcement is that 2012 will be all TDK and Avengers in both 1/6 and some in 1/4.I doubt we will see much else announced in 2012.

Please god i hope we won't see every single Iron Man mark again, this time in 1/4,i know HT would love to since nothing from Hot Toys have been more popular than Ironman and Batman.

1/4 is for statues. 1/6 for figures, i'm not buying any 1/4 figures, they wont match my collections or my shelves.

Why the hell are they even hyping Avengers of Batman when they haven't even started the backlog of licenses yet, let alone guarenteeing Vehicles for this license when Thor hasn't even got 3 figures yet.

After the constant slew of Iron Man announcements i was hoping that they'd finally listen to fans and move on, at least an announcement of something different, instead they hype Avengers and More Batman, while Metal Gear Solid and X-Men Firat Class, 2 licenses they've had for ages and done nothing with remain empty.

Hot Toys have just proven to me thet don't give a crap about anything but their bottom line, they wanna manke 65 figures between Avengers and Batman, have at it, i'm done. But i will relish the day when they got nothing left to do from those licenses and go bust cos they got nothing else on the menu.

1/4!!! im starting to pull the plug on 1/6 because of the high price increase. now with 1/4 coming or way the price is only going to go that much further ^^^^^^^^^! im sure it will look all cool as h3ll but i dont know if ill be around to play this game. ill have to live through this website and all the hq pics that will be posted. i do think it will hurt a little bit though.

This is HT fighting back EB 1/4 and the 1/4 DC Sideshow onslaught that is sure to come.

I am sure some were planning on jumping ship from HT in favor of the DC Sideshow PF's.

1/4 sounds.... I dont know. Might buy 1 batman though - could look cool.
