Heard back from unclefat: Seems this is the only way to do this so we will need someone to volunteer. I have too much stuff going on but if someone wants to collect the 30% depo and send it to him we can finally get the Hofs we need. I asked him to get us a price.

Instead of one by one to ask for deposit as confirmation of Hoffner guitar order, I would suggest to bill you through Paypal for deposit 10 pcs. only (as confirmation of order), I charge the balance when shipment is ready to send to you or individually.

I'd be happy to do this. The simplest way if for pjam to pass me the details (I will email you). I will buy the guitars and then when I have them in hand I will notify everyone by PM and can collect payments.

I sporadically sell on eBay so the PayPal and shipping aspects, even international, are no big deal. The price you pay will need to reflect the shipping and PayPal fees of course. That is just so that I truly break even. Hopefully that is acceptable.

I just ask that no one posts my last name or e-mail address on the boards. Thanks.

But, on reading the message, it seems Uncle Fat wants just the deposit for now and once he gets it, he'll order the guitars and after we pay the balance he can either send it Star Puffs in this case or to the individual buyer directly. It might be easier for all concerned for the individual buyer to settle up the balance individually with Uncle Fat. Either way, just let me know what the price of the guitars will be.

Great news! I'm in for three at that price.

I hope UncleFat sells them to us individually. He's got really good prices and I'd asked before... he'll combine shipping fees sort of (He wrote me that his fee for S&H is based on the standard shipping box from the USPS and how many guitars he can stuff inside.) So, now's the time to buy some very nearly 1/6the musical gear: the Hofner bass, the RIC 325/360 black, the RIC 360 Sunburst, and his Les Paul cutaway. With a bit of tinting on the Sunburst and a few mods on the Les Paul you'd have the Hard Day's Night and Cavern era guitar set... At least they look like those guitars.

2? Well that's better than none.

Hopefully, if this goes through, Uncle Fat will get a few more of the Hofs and pick up a few of the Gretsch CG/Gibson Cassino types like BBICN and Store-Rooms have. That way, some of us could round out a set of period specific guitars. Sort of like these in the UK:

They're MIDI files. No lyrics just words. Play a few of them and you'll be amazed at just how skilled the Beatles were as Tunesmiths. Then, check this link just for the Lyrics:

Now, try that with any contemporary artist and you'll see that a Beatles song is much better crafted for the most part. At least, I think so.

I already have a drum set but for that price I was thinking of dismantling the drums and changing the skins and Logo to make it look more Cavern or Magical Mystery Tour era. The drum skins and Bass logo are off but you should be able to download those. If not, I've got them for the 63-66 era (see page 2).
