Here's Luke on the Sideshow body after taping it over with uncurled cotton balls:

Justin, I need to know your "taping cotton" technique used on Luke. He looks fantastic that way. I've wanted to remove the vest on mine but he just looks too skinny and thus bobble-headed without it. Please share here or in a PM, bro. :rock :rock :rock

BY the way, this thread is one of the funniest threads on the Freaks board in a long time! :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Since the SSC foot doesn't have the break mid foot I'll have to concede this one. But how often are you posing your action figures in ballet moves?

Hey FlyAndFlight. Yeah I posted pics of how to do it a while ago, although I can't find where it is at the moment. But it is very simple. Unroll the cotton balls so that they are straight strands. Then pull apart pieces only as large as you need. So if you need to add to the bicep, you just need a small chunk. If you are doing the hamstrings or the glutes, you might need the whole strand and fold it in two. After you get the shape you desire, tape it down on the ends so it won't slide off, but it can still poof a bit in the middle. The hardest part is filling in the large gaps of hip so you still retain articulation and it looks natural. But as you can see, the results are definitely worth the effort. In these pics, I added cotton to Luke's pectorals, triceps, biceps, glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves. Sure, Mark Hamill wasn't that muscular, but neither did his face look exactly like the sculpt. I shaped the figure the way I thought it looked best.

So far, the Medicom body seems to be the best in natural poses. The Ghost Rider/Yavin Luke/Clubber Lang set sealed that for me. SSC just looks too blocky and lacks fluidity. Honestly, the Clubber figure looked almost as bad too.

Right now, I'm staring at my SSC Han and Kenobi and Medi Stormtrooper (all in different poses), but the Stormie looks the most natural IMO. In this case, it's in the arms. The Medi arms hang better and hold a pose at more angles than the SSC Buck.

Minute scale issues aside, I'm going with Medicom as the superior body based on my own experience and seeing these pics. There are Medi Luke poses here that I couldn't duplicate during the entire year I've had SSC Luke.

Thanks, JL! :rock

That did wonders for the fig. I'm definitely going to give it a shot, as I've always wanted Luke in the "Final Battle" config.

Hey, I've got those same Cambridge SoundWorks speakers on my PC! :lol
They actually sound pretty good with the subwoofer as well.

Fantastic pics TK. You make me wish Marmit was still around. :monkey2 And for those you who don't already know, Dragon bodies can be had for less than $10. I've seen many as low as $4.95.

Unless they come out with a new body, SSC's eventual Stromtrooper figure will NOT be able to pull off most of those. :monkey2

Thanks for the props!:monkey1

This thread is so much fun! A lot of excellent poses! Keep on bringing them!

More natural poses. Please excuse the use of stands:monkey3

The Medi-trooper doesn't compare well to your troops dude. Great figure, but just not as dynamic (and I'm not talking about size, but overall shape and design).

I'd take a medi trooper over marmit any day. :maul

The armor is more detailed

I'd also take a medi trooper over a ss faramir:rotfl:rotfl

OK...by the original rules, there is supposed to be no stands. In keeping with that guideline, I submit...

Edit - I apologize for the grainy picture...I lost resolution sizing it down. I will have to learn how to avoid that.

Having both Marmits and Medicom Stormies and Sandies, they have their pros and cons.

The Medicom is much detailed and the quality of the armour is better. The poseability too is better which isnt entirely due to the RAH ody but the softness of the vinyl armour.

I belive that Marmit's look better overall although the inaccuracy of it plays a part of it. For example, the thigh armour on Marmit is too small on the body but it makes it look better. It's not supposed to be spaced out like that but it works great.
