1/6 Desert Sands Sandtrooper

Yep, it's gone, but still available at BBTS for $129.99 (sub-standard packaging only, though, so there will be small dents, creases, etc., in packaging, though figure will be mint). I'd also check any local comic book stores in your area to see if they have any in stock. I'm assuming this won't be the last Sandtrooper we ever see from Sideshow, but who knows how long until a new one comes out.

The orange pauldron Sandtrooper (squad leader) is long gone from most places but I *believe* I saw it at my LCS, Another Dimension, just last Sunday. Might be worth e.mailing them, especially if you live in Canada, so you don't get killed on shipping or get hit with any fees for shopping across the border.

Yeah, I'll check with my local toy shops but I remember they did not have the Deluxe versions but instead the normal or the Exclusive one.

Any much difference between these few types?

I don't own any of them but from what I've seen the Desert Sands seems to be the one to have. Looks like there's lots of accessories and they didn't go overboard with the weathering. Hopefully someone that owns a few of the variants will chime in.

I have all of the Sandies and all I can say is the Desert Sands one is the one to have.

It comes with all the weapons from the original three Sandies, plus the body is stiffer as its newer and the backpack is magnetised, the back pack was a right pain on the first three as it was only held on with flimsy straps that usually snapped and had to be re-glued.

Also the paintjob for the weathering was done by fellow Freak Silent Surfer and is top notch.

Go with the Desert Sands one you wont regret it.

Yep only the Deluxe has the magnetised backpack so go for that one...if you can find it.

So I'm starting to collect SW 1/6 now, and hopefully sooner than later a few PFs too. Besides HTs Bespin Luke, and now this (just ordered off ebay), can anyone else tell me some "must haves" for a new SW 1/6 collector? Because this figure is absolutely gorgeous in terms of detail and accessories. And that's pretty much what it comes down for when I look at purchasing a collectible.

What you need are two IKEA Detolf shelving units and you have a perfect place to display your Dewback.

Do you like OT aliens, or prequel clones? they have great examples of both! apart from that, things like the new sandtrooper and boba/ig-88 (ig-88 is great) and the future bossk/snowtroopers seem to be a step up from previous releases

I'm not too interested in anything to do with the prequels, just OT. And I have seen the boba from SSC. Not seen ig-88, got a look at that. Are you referring to the bossk/snowtroopers that were showcased at SDCC?

I have to agree with mortifactor on this, the OT Aliens are some of the best figs I own.

Hammerhead (Momaw Nadon) is amazing as is Greedo.

Obviously the Storm Troopers are cool but they are very hard to come across at a decent price these days.

Thanks I'll check them all out, but from what I have read and seen (via reviews) people either really like Greedo or don't. At least that's what I interpret from it all.
