Different weight of the forearms.

We should just ask Hot Toys directly instead of continuing an opinionated discussion.

I doubt they weigh a significant amount more then the mk 2, theyre mostly plastic and have similar electronics

Kind of regret selling my Mk43 now...

Can't wait to get the 43!

And listen...it is an asset to have collectors that see the pros and cons of figures. You guys demand high quality and have the highest degree of seeing what is accurate and what isn't. I definately respect that.

I myself do not really mind the cons. I even love that much hated Mark 3...maybe I'm just not that picky but I think it looks great. The Mark 1 War Machine looks like a masterpiece. I think that the articulation is amazing for such a bulky, heavy, diecast highly detailed Armoured suit. The paint apps look so high quality (both the suit and head sculpt). It's just great and I think a lot of pride and craftsmanship goes into these figures and I know that I for one would not be able to build something like this so I always respect the work that goes into these pieces.

I need to stop looking at photos of this. I can't wait for it, it just sucks that we need to wait so long for the 6.

But man, next year is going to be awesome.. We'll have a complete set of diecast mk 6 + mk 1.. And mk 46 + mk 3.

Anyways, the elbows don't bother me much. I generally leave the elbows extended with the patriot/mk 2/hot rod anyways, and these look very much like that.

If I had only one gripe it would be the forearm decal. I can't find a screen shot that accurately shows that decal in that spot. Maybe I'm wrong, someone prove me wrong lol.

I posted a screenshot from the movie on he previous page that shows a decal on the left forearm in the same spot, but it's not the same decal that is used on the toy. For some unknown reason, Hot Toys has shied away from using actual US air force logos on their figures that are used in the movies. The faux air force logo first appeared on the Iron Patriot figure on the side hip flaps, and they were actually accurate to the ones used in the movie. The star decal on the forearm of the Iron Patriot and IM3 War Machine are also accurate to the movie, but closely resemble a real US air force logo, although with the stripes on the side being shortened. You can see the actual US air force logo on the forearm of the War Machine Mark I in the screenshot I posted on the previous page. For this release they opted to use their faux US air force logo instead. It happened on the AoU War Machine Mark II as well where the promo photos showed the figure using actual US air force logos, but the final figure ended up not having them either.

There's another decal that's supposed to be on the right arm bicep that Hot Toys omitted from this release.

if you look at the elbow it has nothing to do with bulk, theres clearly an elongated elbow joint, being able to push it up doesnt appear that it would hinder or interfere with "Bulky armor"

As much as I hate to prolong this pointless argument, maybe wait til you see it before you decide how clear it is. The arm is a lot deeper than it is wide, and had it been the pull down mechanism there would be many complaints about how the front of the bicep armour rubbed its paint off against the gauntlet if they moved it without using the mechanism. One thing that is clear is that this suit IS bulkier than anything that has come before.
The joint they have made works well and 99.9% of people will be happy with it without people complaining of damage. I am sure Hot Toys factored in how picky we all are into this and chose the route that would be the lesser of two evils in terms of complaining.

Either way I look at this as a fantastic upgrade over the original and apart from the significant cost, it's a no brainer to choose this one.
And at least it is not as decisive as the Blitzway Fight Club figures have turned out to be!

Haven't seen that many repulsor poses with this guy yet. Also, whilst placing the batteries gently into the forearm the actual battery compartment sunk in and to the side (as if not glued or fixed correctly) I got it back into position but thought I'd mention it. Be careful =]

Do you understand the physical limitations of creating a 1/6 figure and allowing for articulation?

If the elbows were not as we have it, there wouldn't be any articulation...

It goes with any double-jointed elbow figures, Marvel Legends, SHF..

I completely understand. That's why I can't wait to have it in-hand. I think you misunderstood, I'm one of the expecting owners who is very happy with how it turned out....

I, too, am awaiting this figure. It looks freaking fantastic!!

If I like the legends version this much (a lot) I can't imagine how much more I'm going to like this version.

It's true that the elbows don't look great, but I'm not too broken up about it. The figure looks fantastic, and I'm not gonna do museum poses anyways.

Just curious.. Do any of you guys get nervous about putting the diecast figures on one of the detolf shelves?

For the longest time I've kept my diecast figures on the bottom, the top, or on my coffee table. I just feel uneasy about displaying any of them on those shelves.

And this one looks scarier than most lol.

We have to understand that this is a die-cast figure....

The original was plastic. The weight has to be taken into consideration when designing the joints (added stress).

Where do you people get this sort of thing?

Ankle joints lend themselves to weakness due to the ball and socket design, but the rest of HT joints are pretty sturdy.

My wife just got me this for my birthday this month. Had just enough time to open it up and display it before I left for the holiday. Sorry for the side pics, lol...I'm on the road using my new phone trying to post :lol
