No not really.Everything about the diecast is an improvement, except for those long elbows, and my eyes are immediately drawn to it. Anyone else bothered by them?

Based on this photo, seems it only looks that way when the arm is bent.Everything about the diecast is an improvement, except for those long elbows, and my eyes are immediately drawn to it. Anyone else bothered by them?

Right?Who cares about the Elbow for gods sake. This thing blows the original away .
Agreed.Yeah i have the same taught i think its for better articulattion.is one of the things where the v1 wins. Also if seen in front it looks like he has giant forearms and biceps but very thin and long elbows.
Not really, remember this photo Hot Toys shared a long time ago?Based on this photo, seems it only looks that way when the arm is bent.

You wanna know why I take issue with this? Because Hot Toys already solved this issue, many figures ago.Right?
The elbow is needed for articulation.
Not sure why anyone would be complaining over something needed for articulation.

Elbows are definitely a little long. But the awesomeness of the rest of the figure far outweighs that issue (in my opinion).
Definitely too bad there is that flaw. But I strongly doubt HT will ever make a better version of this figure. I can't wait... can't wait, to have this in hand.
Well I did post a movie screenshot that shows War Machine standing with pretty relaxed arms. Maybe not completely straight, but who's saying anybody does that though? Are you implying that the long elbows would be noticeable only if the arms were kept completely straight? If so then I respectfully disagree.Who really just comfortably stands with their elbows completely straight though?
It is a beautiful figure, and nothing is 100% accurate, but there's nothing wrong with criticizing aspects that you feel could have been improved upon. Hot Toys got so much right with this figure, that's why it bugs me that Mark I not only looks better and more screen accurate in this one aspect (seriously, everything else about this figure looks great), but other Hot Toys figures have been able to completely sidestep the issue while also having great articulation. There will always be something not 100 % accurate. But I'm very happy and pleased with this figures and all of the ones I buy. This is still an amazing piece of engineering and sure maybe fault them where they've gone wrong....but praise them just as much on what they have done right and my oh my do they deserve the praise on this one.
And who is gonna pose this guy straight arms at his side. This is a war machine, ready to attack any moment. Arms up!!!
Do you understand the physical limitations of creating a 1/6 figure and allowing for articulation?
If the elbows were not as we have it, there wouldn't be any articulation...
It goes with any double-jointed elbow figures, Marvel Legends, SHF..

I don't have the figure in hand, can anyone that does tell me why they couldn't have implemented this technique again?
Maybe because none of the other armors, including your posted example, are as bulky as WM MkI. There is a lot of bulk added throughout the entire frame that may limit the easier movement of less bulky figures. Anyone remember Ralphie's little brother in, "A Christmas Story" when his mother dressed him for the cold? He couldn't put his arms down or get up off the ground because of so much bulk and limited movement. Just a thought.
