Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

Mine are at home! I'm glad I was right about the shipping. that highly impressive they got here in one day.

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

Ok, I opened mine and looks good except for the top of the shirt. It look kind of frayed and I can't tell if a button is supposed to be there. Looks like it came apart

If you are talking about the white collar part of the shirt that folds over against the top of the tie then yes there should be a button there. There are also smaller white buttons that run right up to the top of the shirt beneath the tie.

Hmm...ok. It kind of looks like one, but I'm not sure if it's broken. I'll have to take a picture of it

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

"What a wonderful superhero, he's so violent."

One of my ultimate crossovers...the Doctor travels back to that fateful
day when Dr. Banner dashed onto the desert test site to save Rick Jones. :bounce

Of course the story would pit Bruce Banner and the Doctor against the combined might of the Master and the Leader. ;)

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

Got mine. Really surprised it got all the way from England to California in one day. This is a really nice figure. Not sure I like the wire in the scarf because it's making it difficult for the thing to lay right.

What's your serial number, guys? Mine's 100 of 300 (Signature Edition)

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

So.. does it include a post for the stand? Michael Crawford's review said no, the specs say yes. Did you guys get one?

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

Post was included with mine. Kind of hard to miss it. It's a crappy quality, though. Mine would constantly slide down in the tube thing.

I'm straight gangsta with a limited edition #187 haha

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

The previous ones also had not-so-great posts, they would constantly "roll" to one side. They're not the greatest but I'm glad they're included. I prefer using that.

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

The scarf really bugs me. Doesn't hang naturally because of the wire inside. Think I may have to try to remove it. Also gotta swap Tom to a Hot Toys slim. The body is just too flimsy.

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

My 4th Doctor arrived today. From the neck down I really love this figure. The outfit is very high quality and the accessories are amazing. I actually like the wire in the scarf - it just needs a lot of futzing to make it look natural. But being able to put him in a running pose with the scarf flying out behind him is a big plus!

I still am not sold on the head sculpt. I was hoping I would like it better in person, but it just looks off somehow. I am not normally picky about head sculpts, but this one bugs me. Also I think the hair is painted too dark. I am going to repaint it, and maybe do some cutting and sculpting to make the hat sit more forward on his head.

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

This is a great figure but I've had some problems with buttons. After opening it for the first time a barely touching it I lost 2 buttons from the vest and one from the jacket. I found the jacket one and one vest one. Then while gluing them back on I lost another jacket button.

Re: Big Chief Studios - 1/6 Doctor Who - #04 Tom Baker

PROS: Nearly everything. The way the outfits lay, the detail and the stitching is top notch. I have no QC issues at all. The accessories are so well done, and the paint jobs on them seem cleaner than on 11. I love the new bases! They are very cool looking, and I love how the number appears! The packaging is beautiful, too.

CONS: The 5 o'clock shadow is perhaps a bit overdone. It's not too bad, but I think it could have been a little bit more subtle. 4's scarf is a bit difficult to handle, but the wire adds a lot of poseability to it, so it's just a matter of futzing with it, I think.

Has anyone had tracking numbers on these?

I paid mine up weeks ago and haven't heard anything :panic:

No shipping e-mails were sent out.

You need to go to Fedex.com and register an account and it shows you all inbound shipments and tracking numbers to your registered address.

That's how you'll know.

It seems that the UK domestic orders are going out on Monday/Tuesday next week. Though I am very excited to be getting my #10 then (this aspect applies to both the #10 and the #4) I am not too sure why they would do it that way...I too paid weeks ago and I do find it a little irritating.

I can only assume that it was all a part of the better P+P package they negotiated.

Still, I am not going to moan too much. It seems that I got the vast majority of my Avengers figures before many US collectors, so it's all 'swings and roundabouts' really.
