Thanks Levit and I hope I can deliver on something marvellous and unique.

With that here are 2 photos of the HALO Warthog.

Oh this is the Biggest 1/6th item I have ever worked on and actually as I want this, I am enjoying this too :D
Makes my Custom Speeder bike look TINY LOL

Just really hope I do NOT bugger anything up too badly along the way :D

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

hey dude...as long as you give me a chance to buy this....i will silently wait...this thing has GREAT potential to be on so many levels of awesome!!!!....

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

HAHAHA Levit, alas Not for sale.
Got Marines and ODST awaiting this beastie and of course a SPARTAN from 3A later in the year ;)

Snake, HAHA Actually taking about that earlier today. Alas I do not have much experience with electronics so this is going to be static.

Though I am seriously tempted to cover at least lights/dashboard lights for this beastie.

Wish I had the talent to make this R/C too, now HOW cool would that be LOL

Main add ons for this are Multi option rear compartment uses. Have a Gatling gun sorted, make the Rocket launcher set and maybe frame and seating for troop carrier.
So 3 options on one chassis.

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

Thanks Snake.

Will be removing some parts to use thick plasticard instead and the base of the body will be getting a solid re-enforcement too. As well as the resin coat and Bondo or Fiberglass covering.

Wish I was brave enough to have a crack at electronics on this though :(

Such a shame. It would be awesome to see working flood lights on it.

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

Well I started with the process of turning card into something more robust.

So today it has had its resin coating (outer body) and tomorrow will start fiberglass (tissues) and resin the inside of the body.

Some photos of the resin covered Beastie.

I have also removed the card wind shield now, so start to plan on a clear one once this is close to done.

i would really like to hire you to make one of these for me....i'm not even joking....i want this....it could come unpainted...i just want to know what it is that i have to do to own one of these....let me know...thanks

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

Levi, WOW thanks mate.
Alas I am doing just the one LOL.
Even with my toughening this one up at certain points, I would hate to actually try postage on it A, due to size and B, fragile nature of the model.

However all you need do is download a programme that can open pepakura, download the warthog file (www.405th.com ) or somewhere else. Scale up to 1/6th scale. Print, build and then the slow resin and fibre glass process to strengthen it.

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

I have been experimenting with the Pepakura a little and I really like it. I want to do the warthhog and I saw in your last post that would scale the Warthog in 1/6. I have the Pepakura viewer 3 and I am not sure how to do that. I wanted to make the Warthog for my McFarlane 12" or ThreeA Carter.

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

highlanderpdx.
If you install "pepakura designer" as well, then you will be able to upscale with ease.
Once you have "pep designer" on the puter do the following:-
Goto 2D menu then "change scale".
Then add the length to 1000mm.

BTW make sure the paper printing settings are set at A4 too.

Hope that helps and Please do share the build progress. :D

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

I got the Pepakura Designer and the only option for scale is highth, width and depth. You had mentioned adding to the length, unless you ment one of the three choices I listed. When I changed it 1000mm there were lines added to the template, I am not sure if this is correct. I dont want to print these out and start the build until I know I have it right. Thanks for the help bro!!

Re: 1/6 HALO Warthog

Did you go to the 2D menu and change scale settings inputting the 1000mm?

Once scaling is done.
Drag them to the first 1st sheet, TOP LEFT.
Then adjust to fit.
