I've come to appreciate this figure.

Probably should have just ordered one, considering I ended up acquiring a lot of the parts loose.
That is how I feel about it now. I do like InArt's version but feel this for me has satisfied me enough. Once you give it some mods it looks way better in hand. I gotta close the zipper on mine by sewing it but after that besides getting Unreals sculpt later I'll be happy with just this.

When the inArt was first announced I was one of the many to announce them as ‘HT killers’ but given the delay, the numerous QC issues, and the janky proportions, the HT with very slight mods has it beat.

I had to sell up everything of late but when I do build Batman again, it will be the modded HT, with a custom collar, drape cape and unreal sculpt.

It has presence that the inArt just doesn’t have on the shelf.

So how much does it cost to have this figure at it's peak? and what mods do you need on them?

OT / Unreal's Collar + OSK Cape + Unreal's sculpt?

Wonder if they're any pictures of this combination. I really like and prefer InArt unmodded but I'm curious to see what many consider to be the best choice for The Batman.

Collar was around $50 if I recall, and the cape around $40. From what I’ve seen, the unreal sculpt is probably a couple hundred at least

Have to agree with this. I have the Inart only but something about it just doesn't feel right. I'm not wowed by it, the proportions make the whole representation seem almost fragile.

Looking at the pics of the HT in this thread, it just seems more menacing. I'll have to wait for the inevitable HT 2.0.

Cape is $50 at OSK now and I heard Unreal's sculpt it's $500. So it makes the whole thing $400+$500+$50+$50= $1000.

Unreal custom sculpt looks great but all you really need is the collar, cape, and inevitable custom faceplates that will probably start to pop up

Depends on how accurate you want it really.

The faceplates are not the main ‘issue’ with the cowl, but the shape of the cow itself.

Agreed. Wish HT gave us another cowl that was seamless. The empty cowl was a nice touch but would have rather had a functional one

I like Unreal's sculpt but his paintwork isn't really good imo. The texture of the cowl looks different of what it should be, it's too matte and the stubble looks like he had an allergic reaction.

Still, he got the best likeness of Pattinson under the mask.

Surely I can't be the only one who doesn't like the custom capes, right?

I know every option is flawed, and we have to pick our poison. But I definitely prefer stock, be it Inart or Hot Toys. I don't see an upgrade in any of the custom options. They just look flat, especially around the collar. And yeah, they "drape" better, but they hang like folded paper.

I don't necessarily think they're more accurate either. To be honest, I've tossed accuracy aside, as I don't think that's an option with either figure without some serious modding.

For the time being, I'm aiming for what's most aesthetic.

Sadly that's the issue the custom cape makers won't go all in to make an accurate cape for both InArt and HT. OT claimed the HT was good enough and making a cape that would only be 90% more accurate and cost almost $100 is not cost effective. While I find it ironic because his collar cost $100 before he lowered it to $50-60.

Im completely with you.
The back of the OSK cape looks cool but it doesn’t appeal to me as a drape option.
After a significant amount of time futzing the InArt cape, I’m now very happy with it.

Is there any way whatsoever, with any mods, to get this guy into a squatting “I’m vengeance” pose? I remember seeing someone manage it with the InArt - wasn’t sure if this is another case where Hot Toys stuffed a restricting fatsuit underneath the suit.

I think I prefer Hot Toy's armor to Inart's. But they went too heavy on the blacks unfortunately.

I've compiled my personal thoughts comparing both figures:

Hot Toys' shoulder plates are more form fitting. I like their gloss. In certain lighting conditions, they look closer to the screen. But they're too black, and too plain. Inart wins in detail and color, although they're too matte, and the details are too heavy handed, they look borderline amateur in execution.

Hot Toys' gauntlets are shaped more accurately. Inart's are more stylized. More tapered. But better painted.

I like Inart's belt. It's more accurate. Functions like a shrunk down belt. I appreciate its finer details.

I like that Hot Toys' hands and boots are darker. They contrast more with the rest of the suit (as they should). And the gloss is also more accurate. But Inart's details are sharper. Also painted better.

Neither suit replicates the screen suit adequately. Inart's top suit is more convincing in scale and realism. But I slightly prefer Hot Toy's trousers.

Proportionally, both figures are a mess. But Hot Toys' retains a better silhouette. This also applies to the sculpts of each figure, with Inart's being the one I like less, despite its finer details.

Hot Toy's motorcycle cape is too short. Inart's is too long. Hot Toys' default cape is less accurate than either, but most aesthetic to me in shape, length, and material.

Best I could do (so far)

While playing with both and switching out parts it seems the best bits from HT, gauntlets, chest with bat emblem. Look the best on InArt Batman. I think the issue with why InArt's proportions look off especially his arms is because of the taper his gauntlets have. Though I agree they painted much better in detail even though HT aren't horrible themselves. I prefer the suit and size of HT even if some accuracy is lost on the upper half.
