i have neca A2 and ht A2 on the table, and ht variant sucks so strong it could be used in ****o.

The official pics almost sold me on it with their nice backgrounds setting the mood but in the end I'm glad I didn't buy.

I have some of the NECA figures (the smaller scale ones) and they are cool...but it doesn't stop me from appreciating this figure...

This HT one is very well-rendered...great detailing, the sculpt is very true to the source ( a little too "true" maybe, considering the original movie props and outfits were put together with tape, glue, tubing and some cast parts, this version smooths out some of those rough edges). I get some fan's objections to the "scalloped" helmet-head, but I get the design choice here...it adds texture to the creature that "reads" better on camera. This figure is as much a good representation of the prop and creature-suit design from "Aliens" as it is the classic horror creature it's depicting. I think it looks pretty cool.

From a "figure" point of view, the seamless look does steer it more into being a statue as much as an articulated figure, but the articulation points it does have give it some variety, Fingers crossed that the rubber-like material used with this figure has a long shelf life...as it is here, it displays really well.

Glad I got it...

If HT does a 2.0 of the "Big Chap" from A L I E N, I'd glady pick that up too.

Nice pic jedibear, my fav so far. I would like hot toys to do more with the property even just a new big chap. I'd like more articulation but not if it looked like a giant neca fig. I think this figure is perfectly poseable to capture some great creepy alien horror stances...things could have been done differently but the figure is really a beauty in my eyes

well nothing happened yet to rubber suit of A1, even though its previous owner did something to its surface to erase those awful rusty/creamy paints.
if they used the same material, everything is ok.

Yep, the rubber holds well on mine as well. The paint might rub off over time but the past issues doesn't seem to be a problem here. Maybe the paint sticks better to the new material of the warrior - might be why they changed it. Dunno.

Just got mine... haven't tried posing it or anything. But first impression... the material makes it look like a NECA figure. Makes me love the Big Chap rubber even more. Also the detailing and paint job on the body isn't impressive - head is better. And we could have used at least one other set of hands. Hope I like it better when I get it displayed...

Auchh... already!? This figure hasn't even reached most of Europe yet. Guess we won't see more in this series if they're selling this bad... this is Forbidden Planet on Manhattan by the way.

That must be the display / open box for sale because it's not that price on there New York website .

Dunno, doesn't say though.
Edit: just asked, it's the price for all of them not just the displayed one. Maybe the price will update on the website. Otherwise visit the store.

until ssang stops making aliens and predators, they will fail in sellings, and HT will think that people aren't interested in aliens and predators.
